It was great, even though we got there just before closing time. It the most intact and it was said that it is still in use. I wish they would have stayed open longer. Closing time was 5 pm.

It's a beautiful mission, but there's a lot of recent additions, including a museum and gift shop, as well as a lot of reconstructions. It seemed a bit commercialized. It's free to go to, so that's a good thing. It was the most crowded of all the missions.

I grew up going to mass at Mission San Jose and as kids were allowed by Father Nathan And Brother Jerome to just hang out on the grounds. Now many years later,It is still an active church. The grounds a kept nicely. The church alter has been changed, supposedly back to it's original state, alot of history in these old Missions

This is probably the best preserved of all the missions. I have been here several times, and I never get tired of seeing everything again.

Loved seeing the Chapel that is STILL in use to this day! You don;t hear much about the Mission San Jose over the Alamo. A hidden treasure indeed!
