“An amazing sandwich with fresh ingredients”
Reviewed July 15, 2010

The Sandwich Garden is an inspiration of David Post who walked a 2000 mile trail. He shares this adventure and others through stimulating pictures on the walls of the cafe. This idea of back to nature is evident in the food served in the Sandwich Garden. The sandwiches feature fresh bread mixed and baked in the premises' kitchen. The small absolutely delicious sandwich with piles of fresh vegetables and tasty meat is sufficient to feed two people. The soups are freshly made from original recipes requiring herbs, mounds of vegetables, hardy meats and spices perfectly combined to produce a delicious product that is extremely pleasing to the palate. Dessert is a huge tasty cookie or brownie again from recipes created by the owner.

“Homemade Bread, Fine Ingredients”
Reviewed September 17, 2008

A delightful sandwich shop just outside of downtown, The Sandwich Garden has a low key atmosphere and tasty sandwiches. Their most popular time of day tends to be lunch, due to the proximity of businesses, but orders can be called in, taken to go, or eaten there. The bread is homemade and very good, and the ingredients are all fresh and delicious. Essentially, I create my own sandwich when I go in there, reducing one of their menu items to the bare bones because they make it just like a nostalgic sandwich from my childhood. My only complaint about this place is the hours. First, they are singularly noted on poster board outside but part of it is marked off, leaving the only certainty as their opening time (10:30). Also, they are not open on the weekends. I understand their main business happens during the week, but it is also a residential neighborhood, and I think the restaurant would benefit from extending their evening hours or opening on Saturday or Sunday for lunch. It should be noted as well that this is not the cheapest sandwich shop. The large version of sub-style will run about $10. It is plenty of food though, and the taste is multiple times better than any $5 sandwich you've ever had. The staff is friendly; I think it is family owned and operated. Try this place if you are looking for a great sandwich. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
