“2nd Drury stay due to pet policy, will repeat”
Reviewed April 14, 2011

The wife and I had stayed over at the Drury Inn - NW in San Antonio the previous weekend. We tried this particular hotel near the airport only because we could get a room nearly $20 per night cheaper than the other spot. We enjoyed the free drinks associated with the 5:30 Kick Back and the breakfast is quite good. This hotel originally was one building with the central hallway running east-west. Now there is a new larger building with it's central hallway running north-south off to the side of the original structure. They are connected by a transition section that has an elevator in it. The outdoor hot tub and pool are located within the courtyard enclosed by the two buildings. The landscaping is nice. Their is an Applebee's next to the pool. The parking garage is west of the new main building and connects to the third and forth floors of the transition section by overhead walkways from the B and C level of the parking garage. Parking is by room key and free. I don't know if the Holiday Inn Express on the other side of the parking garage uses the garage or not, but there appears to be plenty of parking room. If you go to the Drury chain web site, you can get a promotional eSaver code that will save you some dollars.

Room Tip: Ask for 4th floor away from highways, park C level

We stayed 3 nights at the Drury. It was very comfortable and quiet. The complimentary breakfast and evening snacks were a plus. The pool and spa area were very nice. This was our first experience at a Drury and will definitely look for others as we travel.

Originally booked a hotel at the new drury plaza hotel north and was not pleased how far out of san antonio it was. Staff and management were very helpful at changing my reservation and was given a very good rate at drury inn and suites airport. Money was deposited back onto my credit card within 2 hours. Hotel was very clean and rates were great. Keep in mind this is a basic hotel and with all the great accomidations such as breakfast, late snacks(even alcoholic drinks), and late check out...i really didnt mind. If your expecting a five star hotel stop being cheap and pay more. This hotel is right across from the Northstar mall and next to applebees that offer great happy hour. Best rates can be found on there website under erates....check it out before booking on any other website.

Room Tip: This hotel offers erate on there website!!

Room was large and well appointed, clean, comfy. Breakfast was supposed to be at 0600 and the entire group (2 bus loads) were downstairs at 0600 and only a few things were out, like fruit, pastries and waffles. All the hot items were more than 30 mins late being served and we were on a schedule. About 100 of us went without the promised breakfast and made do with what was available. I wish that it had been a better experience.

Thank you for choosing Drury Hotels! We appreciate hearing from our guests and are happy to hear you enjoyed your rooms during your stay with us. We are sorry to hear, though, that you were disappointed with the breakfast service you experienced. Our weekend service begins at 7 am and in order to accommodate your group we rearranged our staff schedules the best we could and opened 40 minutes prior our normal time. Your comments are vary valuable and have been passed along to our Assistant General Managers to review with their teams. It is our mission for every guest to enjoy all the services and amenities we have to offer.

We truly appreciate your business and do hope to see you and your group as our guests in the near future.

Great shuttle service from the airport. The breakfast and happy hour appetizers were plentiful for the weary traveler. Rooms come with a small kitchenette area and a couple of tvs. After staying at other hotels with better sound proofing, I was disappointed to hear the person in the next room. This is also one of the main hotels used by Delta to house passengers from overbooked flights.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever been to!!!

First...the website says "newly renovated". When was it updated, in 1984? The only update were the tvs.

Second.... It was boo-boo brown all throughout the room, old school mirrors on the closet, ugly brown furniiture, old paintings, the carpet hasn't been redone in 30 years, and was great-grand mother looking!!

Third....It smelled like no one had been in the room in forever!! It had a stale smell.

Overall...it was not corporate, not updated, not fit for anyone who wants to spend some serious money. We payed $120/nite and should have gotten $100/night put back on the card. Next time, I would rather go to Holiday Inn.

We were at the end of a two-week trip that culminated in staying with family a couple of days around Thanksgiving. We were leaving on Friday so decided to turn in our rental car early and spend T'giving night at the San Antonio Airport . My brother suggested Drury Inn. We weren't familiar with the chain, but you can bet we will look for them in the future. It was a great value for the money. First of all, we had found a deal on Expedia. We called the hotel and got an even better rate. We knew that breakfast was included but were pleasantly surprised to also receive free drinks and snacks from 5:30-7pm. There was a free airport shuttle that picked us up when we dropped off our rental car, then took us to the airport the following morning. The breakfast was a step up from the free meals we've had at many hotels. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant. They even had free long distance calls! All in all, we have paid much more for much less on many other trips. We're hoping the chain expands to the Northwest, so we can stay there more often!
