Loved the course layout. Really fun track that encompasses all that you expect from TX Hill Country golf. Challenging, but not overly hard for this 5 handicapper. Girlfriend, a 32 hncp, shot her best score ever from the front tees.

The downside - course condition was spotty. Bermuda greens were acceptable, but not excellent. Fairways were spotty, due in part to the overseeding with rye they do in the Winter. Despite that, lies were generally acceptable.

Didn't stay at resort (Valencia downtown), but the bar at the course was nice and staff pleasant. Course was fairly empty when we were there, which was good on course, as pace of play was quick, but seemed a little "ghost townish" with lack of activity.

This place in the Fall when the weather is cooler and the course is ready for the tournament could be an A+. As it is, I'd go back, but may try Hyatt Hill Country next time.

Thank mattndallas
