“Lots of fun!”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

This was by far one of the most fun things that we did while in San Antonio. We got there around 11:00am and it was not very busy yet. I read that the best time to go was in the morning because the animals will still be hungry and boy was that true! We bought an extra bag of food (only $1.50) and it was a good thing that we did! All the way through we were approached by the animals looking for something to eat. We even had a zebra that stuck his (her?) head all the way in the car and a couple of very hungry ostriches that stuck their heads in as well. So much fun that we went through twice. When we were done we parked the car and went into the petting zoo part and boy were the little goats hungry. Be prepared to get a bit dirty because they will jump up on you to get food. There were even a couple that were tugging on the back of my shorts as if to say "Hey, feed me too." It can get a little overwhelming. After about 5 to 10 minutes I had to get out because they were all over me! I DEFINITELY recommend this experience. If we ever return to San Antonio this place will be the first place on our list of places to visit.

“Reverse Drive-thru”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Visited the park with my son, daughter and daughter-in-law. The animals got very up close and personal. We were able to handfeed ostriches, emus, dear, lamas... crazy cool. We love animals so it was very fun. Zebras were hiding in the bushes and didn't come to the car. Maybe next time.

“You Feed Our Animals”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

At most Lion Country Safari's you can't even roll down your window let alone feed the animals. Here you get a bag of food with the admission and you can buy more in the Gift Shop. The animals come right up to the car to get the food. So, there were only animals that would not eat you here. You might get bitten but you were safe as long as you stayed in the car. There was also a small petting zoo and other exhibits near the Gift Shop.

This is the place to go for your yearly animal fix. Children love it. It is pretty out there and staff is friendly.

“Animals up close- and personal”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

We decided to do this drive on a whim and were pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. This was a really well run place and the animals appear to be very well taken care of. The only drawback was that some people took way too long to go through some sections of the park. We had a bottleneck around the zebras that took over an hour to get around.

Nice fast food and a good gift shop make for a complete trip. Oh, and they have penny squashing machines!
