Owner description: The Paseo del Rio is San Antonio's favorite attraction. You can shop, dine, lounge in a cafe, or simply stroll along and let the strumming mariachi soothe your spirit.

“A unique place.”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

Lived in San Antonio in the 70's. Came back for a visit ant the riverwalk is better than ever. Great restaurants, bars, shops, but not glitzy or obnoxious. Took a bout tour which was inexpensive and well done.

“Deserves all the hype”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

I don't know how the locals feel about the River Walk, but for tourists, it's nirvana. It feels totally safe, with no worries other than to keep from falling into the water, which we never saw or heard of happening. Parts are quietly romantic, others are lively and noisy. It's a pleasant way to get from one part of the city to another without having to wait for traffic lights. Considering the number of people walking or dining al fresco, the walk and the water are amazingly clean. The only downside is that it is not handicapped accessible. You can't walk from one end to the other without going up and down stairs a few times.

“Nice place to jog”
Reviewed November 14, 2013 via mobile

I visited San Antonio for business and wanted to get some exercise before dinner. The hotel gym was very sad; so I hit Riverwalk for a jog. It's pretty crowded in the core, there's almost no one beyond that. It you run to the end with the dam and locks, it's just 2 mile round trip -- totally relaxing and no intersections or lights to slow you down. Once you get to the end, make sure to walk around the affluent Pearl Brewery District before heading back.

“Nice but overrated”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

Prior to our vacation everyone, and I mean everyone told us you have to go to the Riverwalk. If you stay in downtown San Antonio, I'm not sure how you could miss it. It is landscaped very nice, but there isn't anything to do here but eat and hotels. There are only a handful of shops, which really surprised me. All this area and walkways, but no shopping? Strange. The few shops there are were disappointing. I expected fun and unique shops, as well as places to eat. Don't plan your trip around the Riverwalk.

“Love the Riverwalk!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

It is so nice to be able to walk along the river and be able to stop and eat, shop or go into a pub for a beer. Lots to choose from along the walk.
