This is a really large museum with 3 levels, so if your kid has a short attention span you might be doing some exercise going up a down the stairs. It was a little crowded, but that was expected given spring break. Some of the displays showed their age and were well worn, but overall were entertaining to the kids. Driving and parking in downtown was a little bit of a hassle. I wish they had more places for parents to sit.

After hearing about some negative reviews for the museum our group was nervous about what to expect. We were overall pleased with our day we spent at the museum. It's a bit small and was crowded since it was spring break but the kids had a blast. They have enough variety that each kid found something that they really liked. The HEB market in the basement, the ball factory, the front end loader, and the runway were our favorites. It was nice that they allowed outside food in. The dining area is small so claim your table early. It was easy to find reasonable parking a couple blocks away. They are moving to a new building that is huge later this year so I am excited to see what their new exhibits will be.

This museum is smack in the middle of town at the intersection of Commerce and Navarre Sts.
The parking is the toughie but the City lot is right across the street. During a week day you'll drive past level 10 to find a space.
The good news; they are building a huge new campus
in the 2600 block of Broadway. It will be ready by June 1, 2015.
My two grandsons loved Powerball hall, and the sail boat float in the basement. The Alamoo milk the cow was fun as was the Holt bulldozer.
The kids did some pretend shopping at the play HEB store. They shopped by loading their little carts with steak and lobster, then role played by scanning their purchases. After running up a fake $80 cashier's tape,
they were ready to play the bubble ranch.
The Mezzanine level had an airplane you could board and even play pilot.
The docents are friendly and helpful. This is a great
distraction event for high energy kids.
Once the new location is in place, there will be free parking and a big increase in space.

My 5 year old daughter really enjoyed mainly the supermarket area and the area with the balls. In general it was a nice place, however, I feel it needs a little work but in general a good place to visit with small kids.

Visited the museum today. I was quite disappointed by the place. Not a a lot of exhibits IMO. I have been to only one other Science Museum which was in OKC. It was AMazing! So I guess I am comparing it to that one. My son liked the pretend grocery and the plane the best. Won't be going back.
