We visited SA for our son's 5th birthday to take him to Sea World. My husband and I had never been before so we were all looking forward to spending the day there. I'm really glad I caught their "blue friday" deal and ended up only paying $39/adult & $29/child. The park overall is not worth much more than that in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong - the shows were AWESOME...but that was about it. Clyde & Seymour (the sea lions) was probably our favorite show. We loved watching the interaction between the animals and their keepers. And this show was really funny! The other shows we watched, the dolphin/beluga show and the Shamu show, we somewhat disappointing. There wasn't much "dolphin time" in the dolphin show, mostly acrobats (but we enjoyed watching them as well) and the Shamu show did not last as long as I was hoping - especially for being the "biggest" show at the park.
Other than that, there wasn't a whole lot for my 5 year old to do. He did love the Sesame Street playground and that is where he wanted to spend all of his time. Unfortunately I did not pay $110+ for him to play on a playground! The shark tank was ok, but also unimpressive and the penguin habitat was unbearably smelly. I know animals can stink - but we had to do a QUICK power walk out of that place.
I also purchased the Dinner with Santa but before we were able to go my son started to not feel well. I paid another $60 for the tickets and while it did say on the ticket that a cancel or change needed to be requested 24 hours before the dinner I still called the 1-800 to see if they could work with me. At first I was told no, because of the policy, but I asked to talk to a manager or someone. Seeing as how this place deals with so many kids everyday you would think they would make exceptions. I was placed on hold for about 10 mins and told that it had been approved. I have yet to receive a refund for that portion however - once I do I will up my rating.
