My husband surprised me with dinner here on my 50th birthday. There were 10 of us dining and everyone was mostly happy with their meals. Recommend ordering off the chef's special menu. Service was really good with the exception of a couple of forgotten items which were quickly remedied. All entries were cooked as ordered, bread was good but only offered prior to the meal, veggies could use some work on timing. Some were luke warm and some were just overcooked. Although a wonderful experience can't go 5 stars due to the issues with the sides and for the price $40-60 and up a person, think you shouldn't have those issues. Will recommend the chocolate lava cake for dessert. You must order it at the beginning of the meal but it is worth it. Big porition to share with several people.

If you have never eaten here before you need to try it out. Built for the 1968 Words Fair, the 750 foot tower offers a great restaurant which revolves around it for a 360 degree view of San Antonio each hour. We had reservations which I made online months in advance for 6PM on Oct 18th to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. Be aware that they will not allow you to reserve a window seat in advance. The policy is to ask for one on arrival. We found out that if you visit a Wyndham Resort assistance booth (located in Riverside Mall and the Alamo Visitors Center), they may be able to guarantee a window seat for you. Since we were staying at a Wyndham Resort they were able to confirm for us a window seat a few days in advance and they gave us a coupon for a free appetizer or desert. Now if you are going to the Observation Deck only, you will need to purchase a $10.00 ticket (senior price) and this also includes the 4D movie. They give you a wrist tag you will need to show the attendant to get on the elevator. But if you are going to the restaurant or lounge there is a separate elevator entrance (on opposite side) and it does not cost anything. You can get off at the restaurant or go one more level up and get off at the lounge. At the lounge you can order drinks and appetizers and when it is time for dinner you simply walk down one flight of stairs to the restaurant. From either the restaurant or lounge you can also catch the elevator to go to the observation deck it you want after or before dinner without having to pay anything extra or show any wrist tag. Once at the restaurant we were greeted with a ‘happy 32nd anniversary’ and were seated at the window. On the table was a souvenir menu for the day which was rolled up and tied and had a ‘Happy 32nd Anniversary to the Hall’s” stamped on it. The menu’s that our waiter Kevin, who by the way provided excellent service, also had the same greeting typed on them. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my darling wife ordered the Filet and Lobster Tail. Both meals were well prepared and tasted great. It was one of the best tasting and tender Filets I have ever eaten. The lobster tail was well prepared and tasty. For desert (which needed to be ordered when you ordered your dinner), we had the Lava Cake. This was excellent. I would recommend that you save some room for this desert. It is plenty enough for two people. Overall it was a great way to celebrate as we watched the sunset over San Antonio during dinner at about 700 feet.

The Chart House is located on top of the 750 foot tall Tower of the Americas, located just off the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio. When we decided to have dinner at the Chart House, we expected to have a great view while dining but expected only fair food quality. We were pleasantly surprised with the entire evening.

We made dinner reservations for 8:00 pm at the Chart House. We arrived slightly before that time. The only negative we had for the entire evening was that we weren't seated at our table until 8:45 pm. Of course, the view while waiting for our table to be ready was beautiful, which made the time pass by rapidly.

Once we were seated, the evening was perfect. The server was one of the best we have ever had at any restaurant in any location. She was pleasant and carefully looked after all of our needs.

We each started with an alcoholic drink while we looked over the menu prior to dinner. Both of our drinks were perfectly prepared.

We both started with a Caesar salad. The salad was large and tasted great. I followed this with a seared Ahi as a main course. Again, it was perfectly prepared, was presented well, and tasted great. All the while, the restaurant revolved which presented us with a beautiful and ever changing view of San Antonio.

The dinner cost us $125.00 in total including one alcoholic drink each, a Caesar salad for each, two main courses, and a generous gratuity for the excellent service we had. We found this close to what any similar restaurant of this quality would cost and we had a spectacular setting while we enjoyed our meal. You can't beat the Chart House for a great meal in a romantic setting and with a spectacular view!

The Chart House is in the Tower in San Antonio. Make a reservation and take the elevator to the restaurant. The seating area moves in a very slow circle around the tower, with the birds' eye view of San Antonio. It is easier to get a lunch reservation than a dinner reservation. The food was delicious. A bit more pricey, but you are paying to get to the top of the elevator and to be in a revolving restaurant with a terrific view of the city. A group of us went for lunch and all enjoyed everything we ordered. Most of us had combinations of soup, salad and appetizers. That worked well to try a variety of dishes. The only thing we (all 7 of us) were not as thrilled with was the souffle. It is pretty much sugar and egg whites with a sauce. Loved the sauce. Never mind on the souffle. The salmon was terrific. The lobster bisque creamy and delicious. Service was superb.
