We discovered this restaurant the last time we were in Salem (loved the name!) several years ago and recently revisited this sentimental favorite. It's still just as good! The decor is homey, the portions large, the food tasty, the prices inexpensive and the service attentive and quick. We have only been here for breakfasts, but they are so substantial one doesn't need lunch, though they serve that as well.
The cafe is located on one of the main streets of Salem, so it is convenient to tourist attractions and other shops. The wait staff even gave us tips on other places to eat for dinner and nearby shops where one of our group could find a clothing item she needed. (When we were here the last time, they were just closing when our group of five arrived, but they were great -- they put the "Closed" sign on the door, and served us just as if we hadn't been late. They could not have been more friendly or accommodating!)
You can pay more elsewhere, but for friendly service and good, down-home food, you can't beat this place.
