This is a cozy pub nearby to the Peabody Essex Museum. Only 1/2 block away to be exact! So if you've been on your feet for hours perusing the musuem, stop into the Old Spot. They have several different kinds of beers on tap, wines by the glass and a pretty good menu. We ended up having Buffalo Wings and Lollipop Lampchops as appetizers and both were great. The chops came with a sprinkling of mint and cress. Wings came in two flavors Buffalo or Apricot Truffle. Our bartender server couldn't have been more attentive or pleasant. Hubby sez bar area nice and cozy and we rubbed shoulders with a few locals and they were friendly and nice too. All in all a great experience and a great place to grab some grub after the museum.

Had lunch here on a cold November Sunday afternoon. Nice location. Loved the cozy, warm smallness of the pub and restaurant. My daughter had a cesar salad which she said was just ok. I had a bean burger which was also just ok. Hard to enjoy a vegetarian burger out when it is the same vegetarian burger I can get at the super market in the frozen food section. I understand this is an Irish pub and that means Irish pub food (which from the other reviews seems to be good) but it seemed there was little effort made towards the bean burger. Service was excellent.

We enjoyed a quick bite here on a cold November day. Good service, and large portions. The Rueben was exceptional. Soups wear hearty and filling. Nice atmosphere.

1st time at the Old Spot and it won't be the last. You got to try their homemade chowder, fish and chips, and the Jack Daniels Manhattan - wow :) Great menu and service, fun bar, a real delight.
