“Beautiful Inn”
Reviewed August 20, 2007

This Inn is beautiful. We stayed at 4 B&B's on our New England trip and NOrthey St. House was by far the nicest. The place is clean, modern, and big. The room and bathroom were huge for B&B standards. We had access to the kitchen and living room to store our refrigerated stuff. Flora is very nice and Charlie is a sweet little beagle that loves kids. The only downside is the location. It's not quite in the heart of Salem, it's a decent walk to downtown. We only stayed only night, but 1 more night would have been enough to see all of Salem. Salem is a little run down except in a couple of square blocks. Wireless internet in the room is a nice plus.

My husband and I recently visited Salem and stayed at the Northey B&B. It was located within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Flora the innkeeper was very knowledgeable about the attractions in Salem and surrounding areas. The room we stayed in "Captain's Quarters" was very nice with a private bath. I would highly recommend staying there if you are planning a visit to the area.

Well we have just returned from a 2 day stay in Salem Mass and stayed at the Northey B&B. To say the least it was great. The rooms were exceptional. The location on a quiet street walking distance to the historic downtown was perfect. Flora was an excellent host, breakfast was exceptional, and lots of easy parking.
Can't say enough about this great B&B value for dollars was great!!, room spacious and tastefully decorated. beautiful back balcony for those morning breakfasts, 5 stars in my book!!!

Have just returned from our first visit to New England and stayed at Northey Street House bed and Breakfast on our last night (31st July 2007).
The house is very pretty, in a quiet street away from the main tourist area of Salem. Our room was nicely decorated and spacious with a comfortable bed and large private shower room.
The breakfast was served on the back deck - we had a choice of fresh fruit, breads, scones or muffins and a selection of cold meat and cheeses.
Only downside was the noisy air-conditioning unit, which we needed to leave on at night as the room was very hot, and the 15 min walk into the center to find a restaurant.

A delightful B and B in a historic house within walking distance of just about everything in the Town of Salem. The Inn has charming rooms with comfortable beds and those little touches that make it so much nicer than a hotel. Charlie, the beagle, is a delight! The breakfast is delicious (fresh fruit, quality coffee, and more). Flora creates a "make yourself at home" atmosphere in this immaculate, quiet and lovely setting.

We stayed in the Garden room. A nice, neat room with a cozy atmosphere. Flora will go out of her way to make you feel at home away from home. Good breakfast and well stocked kitchen which is available to the guest all hours. A very good value.

We stayed at Northey Street house for 2 nights, on our first visit to Salem. Flora was a great host, the room was lovely, and the location was very convenient--we did not need our car (or public transportation) at all, since everything was walking distance.

The breakfast was very nice, and there's an "open door policy" regarding her kitchen, so you can catch a late night snack or drink if you wish. Her small backyard is a little oasis, with pretty plantings and plenty of seating. She is kid-friendly (we brought our 13-year-old) , and her dog Charlie was great to have around.

She has a great web site, which I suggest checking out as well.
