Had a fine seafood meal with salads. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Black Lobster by Stromberg's is a good local restaurant on the water.
Waiter was excellent.
Nothing fancy - the kind of place you can just turn up and have a nice meal. In the summer they have music and there is seating outside.

This has been one of the worst meals I've had in a long time........only 6 other guests and the service was slooooow and haphazard partly caused by slow kitchen prep as well as bartender. The house special Bloody Mary was a glass jam-packed with ice, a shot of vodka and some Clamato juice topped by a slice of lemon and a lobster claw. Two jumbo shrimps were inexplicably brought later on, bare on a saucer. Cost? an outrageous and outlandish $14 - more than a bottle of Fish Eye house wine. This wine was uncorked (well, unscrewed) at the table and we were asked if we would leave the top off 'so the wine can breathe' Heh? A basic Pinot Grigio has to breathe? The appetizer (1 order of 2 crab cakes shared) was fresh but extremely over salty, almost inedible taking awa the crab cake taste completely. The main courses (baked haddock and baked scallops) came out about 30 minutes later served on a plate with fresh mixed veggies and home made mashed potatoes, both very nice. The fish however, was baked in a heavy heavy butter sauce and sat as a lump in my stomach. The taste was bland, with tasteless bread crumbs and no spices whatsoever. No further attention from the waitstaff till the check arrived. This place can use a major overhaul, starting with the choice of 'background' music: a rock music radio station complete with commercials. Parking is adequate, the view is roads, water, bridges, nothing special.

Great view, attentive waitstaff, and ample parking. I highly recommend the calamari bruschetta. Portion sizes (especially the Fisherman's platter) are massive and definitely worth the $$ . Seafood was definitely fresh.

I live over the bridge in Beverly . I had some friends up from Florida , Brought them there and it was the worst dining experience I have had in 20 years. Burnt steak tips and burger . Clam chowder was like water . It was great 20 years ago when it was " Strombergs"

We have been to Strombergs several times lately and each time, have been very impressed with the food. The lunch specials are especially good. They are well priced and the menu offers plenty of choices. The service is really good and the location is fun. You can sit outside and enjoy the view or sit in a very nice dining room. This restaurant is a great place to head to for an enjoyable and affordable meal.
