My wife, son and I had a night in Salem and contemplated staying out by the highway for less money, but we decided we wanted to be within walking distance of Salem's attractions. It turned out to be a good move. It was very nice to be able to have the hotel as a nearby base for the day. And if you can talk them into giving you some breakfast vouchers, the breakfast is very nice. The pool is not huge, but it was nice.

Hotel is nicely appointed and the room we had was comfortable

Oh, did I mention the hotel lends out iPads to guests for free? Just give a $100 deposit. Return the iPad and they return the deposit. My son was thrilled!

Parking in Salem is not free, but guests of the hotel get a spot right downtown included with the room.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We could not have been in a better location for walking around the waterfront and downtown Salem. The House of Seven Gables is a short walk from the Salem Waterfront Hotel. We spent Easter weekend at the hotel and was greeted by the Easter Bunny on Sunday morning when we got off the elevator in the lobby. That was fun! A "wicked" good hotel in the great New England town of Salem! We loved it.

Room Tip: Stay above the 2nd floor for a better view.

Booked at last moment, but a very pleasant stay. Had supper in the front bar, good food. Used a local cafe for breakfast so cannot comment on the breakfast quality or cost. Parking easy at front of hotel, and well maintained. Reception/lobby staff were welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We are a family of four, my kids are 5 and 3. I would highly recommend this place to families. My kids favorite part of our vacation was the indoor pool! Which was clean and had showers and bathrooms by the pool. We also enjoyed the Regatta Pub, we did not dine in but brought food to the room and it was delicious! The restaurant had no problems adapting their menu to make food that my little picky eaters would eat. I appreciate that a great deal. The front desk staff was very helpful with directions and how to use the train to get to Boston. They also gave recommendations on things our kids might like. My only tiny complaint is we left the sign on our door for do not disturb because with 2 kids toys lying around we don't need housekeeping coming in. We got a letter telling us not to leave the do not disturb sign on door, to call the front desk. I called front desk and told them we did not need housekeeping. When we came back to our room later housekeeping had been in, we'd been better of with the do not disturb sign on the door. Overall an excellent stay!

We visited Salem on our recent spring trip to New England, and decided to stay at the Salem Waterfront Inn. I work for one of the major hotel brands and could have stayed nearby for 1/4 the cost, but opted to pay full price to be in the heart of the city, and on the waterfront. Having lived in Salem many years ago, we know the area well. The other hotel in town, the Hawthorn, is a nice historic property, but the Waterfront Hotel is impeccable !. Parking is a breeze right out front, the Lobby was warm and inviting and the staff was right on the ball. We loved everything about our room. The beds were comfortable, the amenities including bathrobes were great, and our view of Salem brought back many fond memories. Wouldnt you know it was a full moon, which added to the fun of being in the Witch City. With so many fine dinning options within a short walk on the waterfront, dont overlook the Regatta Pub, they have awsome Lobsta Rolls !
We moved away from Salem close to 25 years ago, and were supprised to see how vibrant and alive the city is now, especially the Pickering Warf area. Many great restuarants being enjoyed by young and old alike, and the tall ship Friendship perminantly moored at the warf, adds to the feeling that you are really in a Historic Seaport, not just the home of the Witchcraft Trails.
The hotel offers a great breakfast , but "Reds" is hard to beat, especially for their famous Manhole Cover pancakes, and is just a five minute walk from the hotel. So much to do in such little time, but we highly recommend the Salem Willows park for a beautiful place to walk and unwind. I could go on and on, but will stop now.
In closing, The Salem Waterfront Hotel will not disappoint. Its 1st class, but not pretentious. It carries its nautical theme throughout, but has all the amenities you would expect. Even though it is not a branded franchise, it has the feel of a Hilton Garden Inn. Try it, youll come back time and again !

We were here for a wedding and found everyone very helpful and upbeat...I am originally from this area and found the location central to Cape Ann and Boston (boston by train). Salem has lots to do and plenty of places to eat. Hotel was very accommodating in every aspect and the restaurant/pub was excellent! This will be "the place" to stay when I come back.
