Description: Located in the Old London Coffee House, which dates back to the 1700s, Red’s Sandwich Shop has been visited by many Celebrities, Congressman, Senators and even First Lady Barbara Bush. A relaxed, friendlly atmosphere in a historic building is the perfect place to join Salem locals for the BEST breafkast and lunch menu in town. The food is delicious, all home-style cooking at pricing so reasonable you almost feel guilty. Having visited numerous restaurants in Salem that charge outrageous pricing for mediocre food, Red's Sandwich Shop is the crown jewel of the city in terms of excellent food, great prices, and a lovely environment with a friendly staff. They offer an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, Dinner Specials, and a daily $6.95 Special.. And when they say roasted turkey, they mean roasted turkey -- whole turkeys are roasted on the premises and carved for your order. In a tribute to Thanksgiving, their Home Style Turkey Sandwich (roasted turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and gravy) is out of this world! Wonderful specialty items from Chicken Marsala and Chicken Piccata to Chicken Pot Pie are made to order. Soups and chowders made fresh daily. For a variety of sandwiches from open-faced, to club, to roll-ups -- they cannot be beat. Red's is an award-winning restaurant that received the "BEST BREAKFAST ON THE NORTH SHORE" award for 24 years in a row! I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. If you have only one restaruant to visit in Salem, make it Red's.

We stopped at Reds for Lunch. The place was really hopping. But we were seated immediately. They had a large menu and a lot of specials to choose from. The portions are BIG and the food was awesome and inexpensive. If you're in Salem stop there!

On our 5th anniversary trip to Salem in October this Shop was a true gem to find. Outstanding Service, Prices and Portions and best yet the quality of the food was 5 Star worthy. We were in Salem for a week and made Red's Sandwich Shop a Morning Ritual for Coffee and Breakfast. Located right in the heart of Salem, if there is a line it's worth the wait, but don't worry the line goes quick.

Great deal on breakfast. It was super crowded , but well worth it. The servers were nice and they were doing the best they could with the 98407868 people crammed into the place.

I saw the picture of the corned beef hash benedict before I went. I went every day I was there for it. I miss it soo much. Just so darn good. Some how tons of people go but the wait to get in is next to nothing. They know the secret. Everyone is in a good mood too. Dont miss this place if you go to Salem. It's not fancy but its definitely down home and cumfy. Affordable.

Looking for lunch near the Witch Museum or the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem? Go to Red's Sandwich Shop. We thought that we wanted soup as an antidote to a cool day, but a police officer directed us to Red's, and we thank him for the advice. The menu offers a wide variety of cuisines, but I stayed with New England food and had a delicious baked haddock that cost a mere $8. You could do a lot worse.
