“Huge portoins”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

We ordered appetizers that were big enough to be main meals. They were delicious. Main meals were also delicious. The reason for four stores is that they only had a seasonal liquor license. They could only sell beer and wine

“Not many choices”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Realize this is a home made place , but need to have other choices for folks that just want a regular beer.

“Great Light Bite Spot!”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

We recently dined at Salem Beer Works in Salem (MA) and had a wonderful evening. We arrived at 6:00 PM and asked to be seated in a booth (just because), and we were so seated. For starters, we shared an appetizer, the beer battered "pretzel" balls served with mustard and/or cheese dip, which I would definitely order again. We didn't want to ruin our appetites, or I would have definitely ordered a second dish. The selection of beers was impressive (I opted for the blueberry beer ... yum!) as were the entree selections. Each of the four of us ordered a different entree, and all were very happy. I had the steak tips (as an "expert" on the subject of steak tips, I have to say these ranked up near the top!), my husband had a burger and the handcut fries, which he loved. Our friends ordered the lamb special (large portion ... no doggie bag to take home!) and the chicken statler. The side vegetable dishes (broccoli and green beans) were cooked to perfection. I should also mention that Salem Beer Works has a generous Rewards program, which our friends already have. Unfortunately, I was not able to join the other night as our waitress explained that they are in the process of changing handlers. As we are already planning to go back (sooner rather than later), I will keep asking until I am "in"! Highly recommend this place ... and judging by the crowds when we left (7:30PM), many others would agree with me. There was a bit of a waiting line when we left, but with a generous bar area, no one seemed to mind. Thumbs (or should I say bottoms?!) up!! :D

“something for everyone”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

Very large menu. Nachos always good. Salmon and Turkey tips were good. For dessert mud pie. Liquor license is seasonal but a lot of beer and some pretty good wines. Frequent buyer club gives you $10 every couple months towards food.

“Nothing Special”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

Great place to go if you just want a great variety of good beer. The wine selection is mediocre. They have a pretty extensive menu but are you going to find that PERFECT burger? Or the best marinara covered pasta? No. Its average food, nothing special, but if you go with a group of people who have different food preferences. The wait can be long during peaks hours and the waiters get very busy. I agree with another reviewer that this place is underwhelming. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT SERVE LIQUOR.
