We came to the Morning Glory for a much needed mini vacation. When we arrived, there was plenty of private parking and a quaint garden and chairs in the backyard. We had a side entrance to our room which was perfect becase we are early risers and hate to wake other guests. The house was open, airy and tastefully decorated. Our bedroom was comfortable and bathroom was big enough for 2. The house was located within walking distance to great restaurants, tourist spots, and shopping. The trolly drives right past the front door since it is ideally located right next to The House of Seven Gabels. (A must see!)
At the last minute we decided to bring our bikes. We were so glad we did! The town is very bike friendly and we did some things out of the way on them. We would lock them up and shop or eat and get back on and bike around.
Some things we recommend...The Salem Ferry to Boston. ($44 roundtrip for 2-would have cost $38 to park) It was a great, 45 minute, ride to the heart of Boston in front of the aquarium. When we got off we walked to Quincy market, had some lunch and took off on our own tour. We walked to see the John Adams memorial, the North Church, and Little Italy. It was wonderful. Make sure to grab a dessert in Mikes Bakery. It was very inexpensive and delicious!
The Witch Dungeon...Cute little play and some neat figures in the dungeon. (Inexpensive)
JAHO Coffee and Tea shop on the waterfront in downtown Salem...We went twice a day.
Salem Beer Works...Great beer and awesome burgers and salads. Try the watermelon ale...it was fun!
Victoria Station on waterfront in Salem...Great prime rib, salad bar, and waterfront seating. (very reasonably priced)
If you drove and you have time to go to Rocky Neck (the point past Gloucester-20 minute drive) You must eat at the Rudder. Fantastic atmosphere, great view, casual or dressy. The clam chowder was excellent. We took the scenic route up close to the water and came back on the highway.
The House of Seven Gables...Beautiful gardens and neat history tour.

We "DO NOT" recommend...The Witch House ($24 for 2 people) It was awful. Not worth $5. It looks cool from the outside so just take a picture and save yourself some money.

If you happen to be there over the 4th of July do not go anywhere...we sat on the rooftop with a bottle of wine and saw the fireworks perfectly. All 8 of the guests and the host Bob were there. We had a ball. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

Lovely place! My girlfriend and I stayed for three nights while in Salem visiting family. The host was very welcoming and understanding (regarding our odd schedule), the accomidations were great, and the location was wonderful (a pleasant stroll to the heart of Salem).

My friend and I stayed at the Morning Glory this past weekend, and we loved it! The house is absolutely beautiful, and Bob really made us feel welcome. The B&B is close to everything, but it's also very quiet, which is great. I would definitely stay here again!

My fiancé and I were thrilled to stay at such a friendly and cozy b&b, right next to everything in Salem. We stayed at the Morning Glory on a trip here to pick out a home (we just moved to Salem.)

The price was reasonable, the owner was very accessible by e-mail and in person and readily gave recommendations on local restaurants and attractions. He also made us feel welcome in our new hometown.

I've recommended this place to all my friends who will be coming to visit us in Salem. I can't wait to go down again and say hi to Bob, the owner, again.
