They had a good selection of stores, shops and restaurants. Try the Hungry Whale for lunch and Fins for drinks and a sit down dinner

Plenty of shops and some great restaurants here. We ate at Victoria Station. The best part is checking out the boats in the marina, including the historic "Friendship" that is docked here (one of the old "tall ships" from Salem's past).

Pickering Wharf is a nice change from the tacky Halloween stuff that thrives in Salem. Don’t get me wrong, the Halloween stuff can be fun and informational, but there’s a lot more to Salem than itches. Many people forget that Salem has a rich seafaring history and this area has a beautiful wharf with some great shops and some great restaurants. There are also some 2 or 3 masted schooners tied up here and a nice grassy area to stretch out in. to have a quick bite or a cocktail. There are some really great old sailing ships in the harbor that you can take a tour of. Nice little shops, a couple of restaurants and a beautiful area for walking around and great views of the harbor.

We went down here just to see what it was all about. Quite a few cute little shops with your basic souveniers. Its nice and quiet and you can get a good view of the harbour and the Friendship (tall ship) without having to go into the Maritime Historical Area.
