“Thoughtful tour of the real, modern Salem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

If you want a flavor of the real, modern Salem - instead of the "Salem for tourists" - this is the tour to take (I'm a local, so I know). I took this tour before the crush of tourist season last night, and found it to be very unique among all of the other witch/history/haunted tours. Yes, there is some history of the witch trials of 1692 woven in, but also a lot of information about the practice of modern witchcraft, as well as its origins (as well as the origin of many of our common holidays) in ancient practices and rituals.

It was a more thoughtful and intelligent tour than you might get elsewhere because our guide Tom, is a practicing witch, and seemed to genuinely want to share his knowledge and experience, not just to recite a script and bring in tourist dollars. And he did this all in a very engaging and entertaining way! I can't say whether the other tour guides for the Witch Walk have as fabulous a sense of humor, but I know they are all witches, so I'm sure the desire to share a better understanding of what is near and dear to their hearts is the same. As other reviewers have mentioned - DO keep an open mind - and enjoy the education!

“Enchanting Witch Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

This was our first trip to Salem and we came across this tour when shopping at the Crow Haven Corner. The shop was very interesting and full of really nice people. We met Lorelei and her two puppy's while we waited to start our tour. We opted to take the 7pm tour as most things close early in town. This was a great opportunity to learn not only the history of Salem Witches but to also get a look into current day witchcraft. Our tour guide was Demetrius and he is wonderful. Very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. We started the tour with a magic circle which was my favorite part of the tour. A truly unique experience. We were also able to take away a small souvenir from that circle. We learned a lot and enjoyed the stops along the tour. I would recommend this tour for anyone who visits. A must do!

“Witches really don't have to be scary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

For anyone that wants to hear the truth about the history/truth of the witch trials, this is the tour you want. Our tourguide, Tom, was quite knowledgable. If you are unfamiliar with witchcraft or with the Wicken craft, Tom may strike you as a bit odd. Don't let your first impression close your mind. Take this tour and learn something new and see the locations that were actually part of the history of the Salem witch craze.

“Night tour on the Salem Witch Walk”

It was a mix of history and story telling. But we could not enter any of the buildings or cemetery grounds. Could use a little sprucing up. .

“The BEST tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

I will start off by saying that we ALWAYS go on ghost tours, not only for paranormal stories/history/legends but the town history in general given by local tour guides. We decided to sway away from our norm and try this tour and I am so glad that we did! If you are looking for a ghost tour, this is not for you, but if you are looking for more historical information on witches and witchcraft in this area....this tour talks about the history of the Salem witches and trials on up to modern day Witchcraft today. I highly recommend that you try this tour if you are looking for something different than a ghost tour. The shop that you purchase your reservation is absolutely wonderful and everyone is so nice, so stop in before the tour and browse and buy something unique and helpful. Thanks so much to everyone at Crow Haven for making our short time there so much fun and interesting!!
