Our tour of the house was very interesting. The guide really conveyed his love of the home through his explanations of its history, architecture and occupancy. Having just read the book, I was very pleased to hear his many references to the house's connections to Hawthorne and his novel "The House of Seven Gables". Even though my husband had not read the book, he throughly enjoyed the tour which took him up the secret staircase to Clifford's room. Great fun!

My family and I really enjoyed touring this house and Nathaniel Hawthorne's birthplace. Interesting history, even my 9 year old enjoyed it. The hidden passageway was a kick. I also found it a nice change from all the witch stuff.

we had an excellent guide who described the house and is history, as well as the adjacent house occupied by the author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Nicely situated on the water.

Had read the book in school, didn't really realize there actually was a house it was based on. The tour guide was great, she shared the history and changes of the home through the years.
