“Somber but appropriate.”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

Very centrally located, simple granite bench memorials to those who were martyred in the Salem Witch Trials. Take time to reflect on your visit and remember that Salem was the scene of a tragedy and not just a great place to spend Halloween.

“this is the place to be on Halloween”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Salem on Halloween has no equal. Like many other Ma. sites, this has great American historical value as well as entertainment value. I don't know of any other place in the USA like old Salem.Bring the kids!

“Great and Entertaining History Lesson.”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

I love the history lesson that was given by the facility, it was done in a Disney World type way. With the animated figures talking about the events of the Salem Which Trials. There a little outdated but still entertaining.

“Very worth while. Refreshingly earnest.”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

I have been interested in the history of Salem, MA since I can remember. While traveling through New England, we made a stop in the town. I was pretty upset, because it seems the town has jumped on the gimmick bandwagon, with ghost-hunting tours, psychic readings on every corner, and zombie walks in the cemeteries.

The memorial, however, made the entire stop worth-while. It is not flashy, but rather solomn. There are 20 stones sticking out of the two side-walls in the memorial, each with a name, date, and method of death of the 20 accused witches that were killed during the trials. The threshold of the memorial had quotes from the trials, and was very moving as well. The memorial sets directly beside an OLD graveyard, which is quite interesting as well.

Overall, if you go to Salem for the history, and not for the tourist traps, this would be the place I recommend to you.
