“Great hotel - extremely comfortable”
Reviewed May 14, 2007

We stayed at the Comfort Suites (2 adults 2 kids) for 1 night on our travels to the Grand Canyon. Our room was very clean and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

The beds were extremely comfy and our room was reasonably quiet. Continental breakfast provided was good too with plenty to choose from.

We found the free internet very useful so we could check our email without having to have brought our own computer with us.

Plenty of good local restaurants/diners nearby within walking distance.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is after a comfy bed, clean room and friendly service, all at a good price.

Our family of three stayed here for several days in March. We had some problems with the fridge. For some reason, if the light was turned off in our room, the fridge turned off. We fixed the problem by plugging the fridge into a different outlet but not before our leftovers were ruined. Other family members were on vacation with us in a different room and had the same issue with their fridge. Also, when we arrived there was dried soap bubbles/scum in the shower. Ick! The ice bucket liner was not replaced every day. These problems were not that big of a deal but wanted to mention them.
The breakfast was fabulous! It included fresh make your own waffles, eggs, sausage gravy with biscuits and the usual yogurt, cereal etc. The hotel was located close to shopping and restaurants which was very convenient. Overall we had a nice stay and felt it was a family friendly hotel.

Stayed one night on April 13, 2007. On a budget and looking for comfort and cleaniness, this hotel is recommended. Clean and decent size room, friendly and efficient staff, comfortable beds, surrounding area/neighborhood was safe, and good assortment and supply of items for the continental breakfast. The vanity/sink is outside of the bathroom which has the toilet and tub. This is nice so that one person can be showering while the other person is blowing drying their hair. Tucson Mall is so close and has several restaurants. The only downside is the car dealership next door. We were unable to sleep in due to the dealership's paging system which you could hear loud and clear in the room. It starts very early. Not sure if this noise affects guests in rooms facing the parking lot? Also, the walls are a bit thin so you could hear people in the hallway. All in all, I would book again when in the Tucson area.

  • Liked — clean, comfortable, safe area, quality and quantity of continental breakfast, near restaurants and shopping
  • Disliked — a dealership next door has a paging system that you could hear in the room. Very loud and will interrupt any chances of sleeping in.

We (husband and I) stayed for two nights at the end of March. The location, while seemingly odd (Auto Mall Drive), is actually fine - the businesses in the area are closed during the evening, so it is very quiet; additionally, the hotel is located a block back from the very busy "main drag", so traffic noises are minimal. We stayed in a third floor room - nice view of the mountains even if the view includes some of the mall. Close to River Road and the wonderful Riverwalk - we were able to get across town to Saguaro National Park East, Sabino Canyon, and the University easily; and enjoyed an early morning walk on the Riverwalk. Nice "expanded" continental breakfast. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a nice sitting area and work desk with internet access. Great pillows, big fluffy towels, excellent mattress! The pool and spa were wonderful - actually heated to a comfortable temperature, unlike some of the so-called heated pools one finds that are actually near-Arctic in temperature. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Tucson.

We stayed at this hotel in mid-march for 2 nights. We were pleased. Our room was clean and just the right size. The separate sitting area was great. The hotel breakfast was good. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The pool was a bit small, but clean and a good temp.
The location is great - just across the street from the Tucson Mall. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The only negative we encountered was the car dealership next door uses a loud speaker to page people. It got a bit annoying during the day we were trying to take a quick rest. If you think this would bother you, request a room on the side of the hotel that overlooks the hotel parking lot.
Overall, a good experience. We'll stay there again.
