This is a beautiful, newer hotel, about 15-20 minutes away from UofA. It's in a nicer part of Tucson, and it shows. The facility is clean and well appointed. Beds, including a rollaway we needed, are comfortable. Bathroom is good-sized. Plenty of drawers including in the bathroom. Lots of plugs in the bathroom, but only one at the desk. Free WiFi which worked well. Small fridge and microwave as well as coffee maker, good bathroom products. It's very quiet, with plenty of parking. The restaurant and bar are good, as is room service. Though we had some mistakes with room service, they were rectified quickly and mischarges were fixed at checkout. It's definitely a good value a well -- the cost for the room is slightly higher than you'll find in the downtown area around UofA, but both the little bit extra in cost and distance are worth it because this hotel is exponentially better than anywhere I've stayed around UofA (other than a great B&B in the Historic District). It's a quick drive to good restaurants and casual dining as well. Staff was friendly and helpful, requests were responded to quickly and courteously. There is a pool but we didn't have time to try it out.
Had one weird experience that prevented a five star rating -- a maid (we presume, anyway) took one of the cupcakes we had (which was in a closed but clear Tupperware container on the desk). The front desk was shocked by this, and it wasn't the end of the world, but it was distinctly odd and has never happened to me in any other place I've ever stayed. However, cupcake theft is minor, nothing of actual value was taken, and the management were advised, so I doubt anyone else's baked goods will be in jeopardy. Despite this little hiccup, I will definitely be staying at this hotel again when next I'm in Tucson -- it's too great a value and too nice a property not to return.
