I love this hotel. Total hidden gem. I'm a total hotel snob (usually stay at the Ritz, Mandarin, St. Regis etc), and I love this place. The rooms are clean, spacious, lovely, and so affordable. The hotel restaurant is great too, the steaks are really high quality. I can't imagine why this place is only rated 3 stars.

Lodge on the Desert is a Tucson classic, and they have done an amazing job with their recent renovation. We reserved here last minute (after plans to travel north fell through due to a snowstorm) and had a wonderful experience. The only disappointment was to see this beautiful place with so few guests!

We shared a suite with some friends in the renovated section of the hotel. The rooms were a lovely mix of modern and traditional, really spacious with gas fireplaces, nice tile and comfy beds. Our other friends stayed in the original section of the hotel, which was a little more traditional, but just as nice.

I was really impressed by how clean the rooms were, how immaculate the grounds are, and also by the friendliness of the staff. We had originally booked three rooms, and when we discovered one of our friends' rooms had been upgraded to a suite with two full rooms separated by a common area, we asked if we could cancel the third room. This was completely last minute, since we had just booked our stay the day we checked in. They canceled our third room with no problem, saving us a bunch of money.

My family lives in Tucson, and reviews of the Lodge's restaurant had been up and down over the years, so I was wary of eating there. We ended up having breakfast at the hotel both mornings, and it was delicious, with high-quality, local ingredients. So I definitely will go back to try dinner next time I'm in town.

The staff at this establishment was one of the friendliest I have ever encountered and over the two days of our stay, we met quite a few. Our room was large, immaculate and very comfortable. The bed was perfect! We found the location to be good for our stay as we were visiting different areas. The property was kept in excellent repair and the decor was very nice. We did not use the pool but it looked fine. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site and would highly recommend that also.

Very low-key collection of separate buildings with one and two levels. Beautiful landscaping and peaceful. The hotel is surrounded by a wall. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Excellent alternative to typical multi-story hotels, even for top-end hotels. Only complaint is that the wireless service did not work in my room and was very slow and intermittent in the lobby. There is a PC in the lobby area, but this is not convenient for doing work. After several days of asking about the wireless, I was upgraded to a better room that had an ethernet connection, which was very fast and reliable.

This is a nice alternative to the national chains and expensive botique hotels located near U of A. The service is fantastic and the people are very nice. It is not your typical hotel room but more of a traditional southwest room.

We ended up staying here as a "staycation" when relatives were unable to come visit. I was so impressed with everything this hotel had to offer. Having been recently remodeled, the rooms were spacious, warm, inviting and cozy. The service was wonderful, the pool, although small, was just right. Just off a busy street, you would think you were outin the middle of nowhere with how quiet it is. The location is central and convenient. This hotel is also not overpriced- a definite place to stay when you visit Tucson!

We were looking for a special place to celebrate our anniversary but yet be close to home. We needed a cozy room and a great restaurant that we could stroll to. A friend recommended The Lodge on the Desert and he was spot on. Friendly staff, great food, good wine selections. If you dont like big convention style resorts, this is the place in Tucson. Close to downtown, golf, shopping and nearby attractions. The rooms are well furnished, very comfortable beds, ours had a fireplace and a small balcony to enjoy the great weather.
