We spent a couple of nights at this nice resort. The rooms were adequate. We did not use the amenities as this was a working trip. Breakfast was good and came with the room. The only classless problem was when the morning waiter asked for the food voucher they promptly told us this did not include the tip. I thought for this kind of hotel this was something that should have been left to the customer discretion.

I would stay again.

This is a stunning hotel in an amazing location. The facilities and food were excellent, and could not be faulted. however, a couple of things really let this place down for us.

Firstly, we arrived to our room to find a nasty smell in the room - we looked around and found a used condom in the room left by the previous occupants. I notified the hotel, and they were extremely apologetic, but this did not detract from the fact it was there in the first place.

We ate in the restaurant for the 3 nights we were there. The first night was a fantastic experience with an amazing server, however - the service level deteriorated, on the second night with slow drinks, and on the last night, the bread appetizer came out at the same time as the main course.

This hotel was great. Our room had a gorgeous view and was very spacious. Walk to the pool, restaurant, fitness center were just steps away. Very quiet location. The location of the hotel was very close to shopping, sites and other restaurants. Definitely will stay there again. Room service breakfast was okay -- the food was stale.

Nice resort hotel with beautiful grounds, large and comfortable rooms. Really cheap when compared to similar properties - at least when I was there. Friendly staff, good gym facilities which are accessible around the clock.
Would definitely return

Staff and service were excellent; great hospitality. The grounds are lovely, lush and well-kept. I attended a conference and we were all pleased with the arrangements. Self parking is included, and having a car is a must to see the surrounding area. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: I usually avoid pool-side rooms because of the noise, but these buildings are set back from the pool...

My husband and I recently stayed at the El Conquistador with daughter, son-in-law and 3 grands (10, 6 & 4). Had poolview connecting rooms which the kids loved. Food was excellent, Room Service excellent -- very accommodating with requests for extra towels and supplies. Rooms were cleaned daily, Biggest complaints were the advertised "basketball court", which was a primary reason for selecting this property so father and 10 yr old son could play. When we inquired, we were told it was a parking lot and net was broken; the bike rental age requirement was 16 & over. Bike had difficult gears that my daughter traded her bike with hubbys to attempt to ride uphill trail. Fortunately, the 3 grands LOVED the pool, so they weren't disappointed. Poolside bar and grill was fantastic ! Hotel restaurant was fabulous (lamb chops special was finger-licking good). Beware of the 18% gratuity that was added on whether group is under 8 people per their menu or not ! As a Travel Agency owner of 24 years, I would recommend this Resort, but would suggest limiting advertising to what is actually available. The entire staff was very courteous, professional, and helpful. They also had golf, tennis, spa service, concierge & Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch.

Room Tip: Connecting Rooms for families.

Thank you for your review. I am pleased to read that your family enjoyed our resort and the amenities we have to offer especially the pool. I apologize for the miscommunication regarding the basketball court. We have a great basketball court at our Country Club which is about a 5 minute drive from the property (we offer regular shuttle service to the club), I am sure your grandson and son-in-law would have enjoyed shooting hoops at the country club, and I am sorry that this did not happen as I am sure he was disappointed. We appreciate your feedback, which I will share with the team. I hope that we can welcome your family back in the future.

Work related classes were held at this comfortable and quiet resort. Ammenities for family enjoyment while I was away during the day were fabulous and there was plenty of nearby entertainment, restaurants and shopping without the crowded city feeling. We can't wait to go back for a leisure visit to hike and play.
