“A Beautiful Setting”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We have stayed here a few times over the years. The grounds are beautiful as is the setting. Our room needed updating. The bathroom was large but lacked two sinks and a walk in shower. The staff is wonderful.

Excellent staff. Fabulous location in foothills with views of mountains from most of the resort. Great pool. Very good restaurant on-site. I highly recommend. Good value. Close to trails in Coranado State Forest. Can walk on from hotel. Sabino Canyon is a short drive away and well worth the visit. Mt. Lemmon and Summerhaven make a great day trip.

Whether you are hosting a special event or looking for a relaxing getaway, the El Conquistador hotel and resort proved to be a great place to stay! We had the most amazing views from our room of the Catalina mountains and enjoyed amazing service from the friendly staff. We brought our dog to enjoy the trip with us, and the staff and other guests were all so friendly and welcoming to the three of us. The bed was good size and the spacious room made us feel like we were right at home. An enjoyable experience all around!

We were attending a wedding in Tucson and wanted to stay in a hotel with great views....and this property certainly delivers!!! The pool area was awesome. At night you can sit around the beautiful fire pits!! The only compliant we have is our bed was very hard and the walls are very thin. We could hear a guest next door to us blow their nose. Other than that you will love the hotel.

What a lovely hotel! It was a bit of a drive from the airport- but well worth it. I arrived to a lovely hotel Surrounded by the mountains. The bell staff were very down to earth and welcoming. It was so peaceful, we could hear the quiet. The Mountains surround the Resort and the Resort surrounds the pool area with it's gorgeous gardens, waterfalls, and streams. We ate on the outdoor patio of their restaurant- Epizote for dinner and the food, service and ambiance were fabulous. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from it all.

Room Tip: They also have casitas that I absolutely loved. They are a bit farther from the pool but give you t...

This resort is a lovely property & the common areas (lobby, grounds, restaurant) are gorgeous. Service is quite good. The tennis courts are immaculate. My only deduction on the rating is because after all that, the rooms themselves are a bit "meh". Clean but slightly tired & a bit dated. Bathroom was pretty small and not very well laid out (sink kindof blocks your reach to the shower faucet). Still, overall experience was near excellent.

We stayed at this hotel using points, so I'm not sure if I'd have been less thrilled to pay "resort" prices for a "holiday inn" room....

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms will "face the pool", but be careful -- ours (in building 1) actually face...

The resort is located below the distinctive and beautiful Tucson Pusch Ridge. El Con is our favorite Tucson resort. We occupied a Jr Suite which is spacious and nicely decorated. The friendliness of staff and service was great. Would definitely stay here again.
