“Wonderful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

if you want something close but feel remote...this is a good vacation spot for Tucson. Service was wonderful , accomadations were exceeded...staff was super friendly and helpful, even the maintainance man that gave me a lift on his cart made me feel special.

Room Tip: I had gotten a free upgrade to a casita and while it was a brisk walk uphill for dinner, the mainten...

Large hotel, with lots of tennis courts and a somewhat remote location. Food is not great and the rooms are not what would be expected for the price - they are in serious need of a remodel. The walls in the place are quite thin, as in you can hear snoring, tv's, use your imagination...... The pool is pretty nice and the view of the mountain is rather spectacular. But the attached convention center and Vegas-like feel ultimately detract from ambiance. Am not planning to stay there again.

Cons: Standard rooms are old and not updated. We stayed for 5 days Thanksgiving week. Building 4 and given room 2413 - standard 2 queen bed room. No mini fridge, hot water as other reviewers have mentioned was an issue on the first day. We called maintenance and they replaced the valve in the shower so we could have a hot shower. Very strange for an upscale hotel. Room has a desert view not mountain as standard - upcharge for a standard room with mountain view. Everything is an extra charge - wifi in rooms is NOT complimentary - only in lobby. Again very strange for an upscale resort - even low budget hotels these days have free wifi in rooms. No bottled water in rooms only in mini bar for charge. Bathroom is a bath/shower combo with a very small bathroom per se.

Pros: property is beautiful. Pools are clean and lots of amenities - water slide (though smallish), hot and cold plunge pools, volleyball, nice towels, etc. Golf was good as well my husband said.

We won't stay here again as the room is as important to us as the grounds. Other hotels with similiar grounds but better rooms is what we will choose.

Room Tip: rooms in building 4 that have a mountain view actually face the inside pool area of property.

Thank you for your review. I apologize that your room did not meet your expectations. You did not indicate whether you had requested a mini-fridge which we would have been happy to provide upon request. We appreciate guest feedback, and will take your comments into consideration for future renovations.

We hope that you will give us another opportunity in the future.

Sincerely,
Lynn Ericksen

Great breakfast service, Gino did an excellent job. He even got me my Favorite Starbucks coffee from their coffee center in the Hotel. We have had Gino before when we stayed here, always good service with a smile. Last night we at dinner and had Mikki, she was also very good. Great place to stay.
The rooms are a little dated but we come as a family and love the casitas with adjoining rooms. That way we have a kitchen, dining room table and a living room with a sleeper sofa. We have had family reunions here and love the whole place. In the summer the pool area is great for our get togethers.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton El Conquistador this last weekend and had a fantastic stay. Upgraded to the mountain view upon check-in, which was awesome to wake up in the morning and see the sunrise. Service at the front desk was outstanding upon check-in and out. Rooms are a bit dated and could use a little remodeling, but all in all the property is gorgeous and has a relaxing vibe. The bath towels in the bathrooms are a plus. They were as big as a beach towel. We were in town to attend a friend's wedding so we didn't have time to use the pool or the firepits. But when I come back I'm sure to take advantage of them. I'm hoping to come back soon. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Hilton El Conquistador this last weekend and had a fantastic stay. The level of service at this property is outstanding. From check in to check out everyone was welcoming and pleasant. Even when the hotel was almost sold out we felt like we were catered too. We got a great dinner recommendation from John at the front desk for an Italian restaurant. Also, Dax and Kevin were very helpful bellman.

We are definitely excited to plan our next stay at this wonderful Hilton property. We know we will get the high level of service that Hilton is known for.

Enjoyed your hotel. The staff was always very friendly. Marissa's service at breakfast was excellent. The golf courses are challenging & beautiful.
We were a group of 20 out of Chicago, we'll probably be back next year.
Keep up the good work!
Yours truly,
Ron Hectus
