What a great place! It felt like an all inclusive resort in the carribean, minus the ocean view... but the mountain backdrop more than made up for that! Resort was very clean, staff everywhere was excellent and friendly, restaurant was great, pool was clean and very nice, hot tub great, cold pool with waterfall added a nice touch. Overall a very nice place - would stay again.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the hotel. Everyone was very friendly. The hotel and
grounds are very well maintained. Enjoyed walking around the property. If the hotel is
crowded you may not be able to park close to your room. We had a lovely view of the pool and the mountains. Golf course looked great and nice seating around the pool.

Room Tip: Better view higher up in hotel and looking west

This is a nice hotel room was spacious, service was great but I only stayed for one night so I cannot say much about the food since I did not eat there.
The view was great from the balcony in my room.

Stayed here for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, not convenient to most of the shows but we expected that. Room was spacious; with all the views, I should have requested a room overlooking the pool area and to the east. Ate in Dos Locos for dinner, really nothing special about the restaurant and had a bit of a hard time finding items that looked good--ended up sharing a salad, the duck tacos appetizer and the chipotle pasta with shrimp--all were surprisingly good.

I recently stayed at the Hilton El Conquistador with my husband and my mother. We shared a casita and it was perfect for the 3 of us. There was plenty of space in the main room, even with the pull-out sofabed, and the decor was wonderful - great Southwestern art on all walls, but not overdone or "touristy". The casitas all have a small patio (ours had a beautiful mountain view and a huge cactus just outside), fireplaces (complete with composite logs), refrigerator and microwave. The only negative comment on the casitas is the distance from the main building and the parking but the front desk was great about sending a cart to our door whenever we requested it.
The property is large but the grounds are beautifully maintained. I wish we had visited during a warmer time of year because the pools look wonderful. We really liked the idea of the kid's pool separated by the "rocks" that make up the waterslide. I would think that it would help to soften the noise at the adult pool.
The Sundance Cafe was closed for renovation but they had moved the breakfast buffet into the evening restaurant - Dos Locos. Our server (Gino) was wonderful and the buffet was delicious (I am not usually a fan of buffets but everything on this one was hot and fresh). The decor in this restaurant was also just the right mix of Southwestern art, but not overdone. Even though it was crowded for breakfast, it did not seem loud because of the different levels and booths.
Overall, we really enjoyed this resort and will definitely come back when we have more time to enjoy the facilities (the golf courses looked very challenging). The location is a bit North of downtown Tucson but nothing seemed too far away and it was nice to be able to go outside of the city into the quiet mountains at night.

Room Tip: Casitas are large & perfect for families but far from main building Building 3 (main bldg) is r...

Stayed at this Hilton resort three nights. We were upgraded to a lovely hospitality suite. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The facilities included a golf course, spa, walking trails and a nice though average restaurant that featured a breakfast buffet (not included). At the base of a mountain you have wonderful views depending on your room. I was a bit dissapointed as I thought that it did not fully meet Hilton resort standards but had a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Become a Hilton Honors member for the chance at upgrades. Hospitality suites and casitas have the be...

I stayed here for a conference and enjoyed a great facility and food services. The only drawback was the lack of free wifi on the whole property (only limited to lobby area). Since it is a very spread out resort, it made for some inconveniences to connect easily and affordably. But overall, a beautiful property with great service.

Room Tip: If mobility is an issue, one should probably request a "closer" room as some of the buildi...
