“Great Value and a lovely stay”
Reviewed September 7, 2011

This is the second time we've stayed at the El Conquistador. Our first trip was for business, the hotel was completely fun and we were in a room in a small building at the bottom of the hill; quite a trek to the lobby or pool. We still enjoyed the stay and the spectacular views so when returning to Tucson on vacation chose the El Conquistador again. We got a great rate for two rooms and requested to be near the main hotel and the pool. This request was honored and we had a King room overlooking the pool and the other (with two double beds) opposite with a mountain view. Both rooms were very nice, well maintained and spotless. We also enjoyed the pools.

We had a great time in Tucson and the El Conquistador was a great choice

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main part of the hotel near the pool

Enjoyed a 3 night stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Maid service is very good.
The grounds of the hotel are immaculate and very well maintained. Beautiful plants and flowers frame stunning views from the pool of the mountain backdrop. Prices at the bar are on the expensive side however this is normal for a quality hotel so one should expect this. My only downside comment for here would be the wifi is only free in the reception area. If you want access from your room it's a $10 a day charge. Most other large superior hotels offer this free. After objecting to this charge the hotel did give us comp access and were very pleasant about it. We only needed it for our iPhones to use Skype to dial home Would I return and stay again??? Definitely!

This is an older place but nicely maintained. They had several pools, a nice spa and a few restaurants. We were there mainly for the sunshine so most of our time was spent by the pool. The service was good if you got the right bartender. They had nice pool towels, cold beer and decent lunch type food right at the pool. The mountains surrounding the resort are simply gorgeous. We practically had the pool to ourselves the whole time we were there. We would go back for sure.

Room Tip: Due to the location and the scenery I don't think you could get a bad room here.

We spent our 37th wedding anniversary here. Every staff member treated us like family. The food in the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was excellent, and the room was perfect. We highly recommend this resort for a relaxing getaway!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. We chose a pool view and were treated to a view from our patio of both the pool and the gorgeous mountains. The service was terrific, the room was updated and clean with very cold a/c, swimming in the pool was amazing with the mountainview, and the prickly pear margaritas were the icing on the cake! This hotel is picture perfect. All of my pictures from the trip look like they came from a magazine. Don't pass up this hotel. It's wonderful.

Room Tip: Take a room with pool and mountain views.

One night on business trip. While the property seems older it is well maintained. Room was spacious. "Mountain view" was a view over the valley (from building 3). For a true mountain view I would ask for building #2 next time. Rate was incredibly cheap (under $90), but this was in August and the outside temp was 106F so it was definitely off season. Pool area was very nice. Overall a good experience.

Third time at this place and it always hits the mark. Absolutely fantastic resort, great service, very clean and good size rooms. Love this place as it is of a very high standard but is not "stuffy" and pretentious like some high end places. Gym great, pool superb. Can't wait to come back for a fourth time
