If I had to describe our stay at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort I would say "fantastic". We were down in Tucson to visit family and this property was the perfect get-away experience. Tasha was really great and attentive while being our server. You will love your stay here.

We stayed at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort for a family weekend getaway. We were very impressed with the beautiful property and room, excellent service and wonderful food. We had a particularly enjoyable breakfast thanks to our waitress Tasha's great service. She definitely went above and beyond throughout the meal. All of the staff from the front desk to the restaurant/bar and the pool were friendly and professional. The grounds and the view were quite impressive. The stay was everything we hoped it would be - very family friendly. No issues or suggestions for improvement.

Stayed here for one night after my husband got back from a long deployment and we needed a night just the two of us, away from the kids. It was perfect. Our room was spacious and clean, the bath tub was amazing and everything was very relaxing, which is what we were looking for. At the Cascade Lounge, we both got a burger with our beers. Best burger I have ever had, seriously!! While we did not eat at the Flying V during our stay, we have been there to celebrate twice for special occasions. It is amazing! If you are looking for a beautiful, delicious place to get something to eat, I highly recommend it! Also, the staff was very helpful and super nice! The robes were also so soft, we wore ours all night! We have decided we will give ourselves a night off here more frequently after such a great experience! Can't wait to get back!

We recently stayed at this hotel on their golf package and really enjoyed our stay.
First, the hotel is an older property that has been maintained very well. The rooms are generous with nice single sink bathrooms.
Our room was on the back side of the hotel with a great view of the mountain and property.
The front desk staff was friendly and very professional - thank you Olivia!

I stayed at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort through my job on a Thursday night. We had a meeting, dinner, then drinks in the lobby and a complimentary breakfast, all on the company. Our rooms were average hotel rooms: 2 beds, decent bathroom, closet, robes, iron, towels, toiletries, couch, tv, phone, clock radio, internet hook up. Our room was on the "2nd" floor, and I say "2nd" because of the way the hotel is built in to the foothills. Our balcony was ground level, with a low wall that could easily be stepped over. It made myself and my roommate a bit uneasy as it was directly in front of the parking lot. Our view during the day was ok, but at night it got better as Tucson lit up below us. There was wireless for $10.95 or 24.95 per day. We were given the $10.95 on the company. It was spotty at best, and cell service without the wireless was also spotty. There aren't a lot of places in Tucson where you'll have trouble getting a signal (I live here) but this is one. The bed was terrible. It was squeaky and I could feel springs poking through. It was not the best night's sleep I've ever had. I also had to pull the t.v. away from the wall and plug in the cord to back of the set, as it was loose.

That being said, the grounds are spectacular. There is a 1/2 mile paved nature walk that starts behind the lobby and heads in to the foothills, ending in a natural waterfall that is assisted by pumps during the dry season. The waterfall feeds the water features on the property, including the koi pond which has the largest koi I've ever seen.

The food was really good. We had a private dinner in the Ventana "Room" which was more like a hallway. We had a spinach salad with feta, walnuts, cranberries and a vanilla balsamic vinaigrette. I practically licked the dish. The main course was either salmon with green beans or chicken with corn bread stuffing, glazed carrots and garlic mashed potatoes. I had the latter and ate every bit of it on my plate. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream, a sliver of white chocolate and a fresh raspberry. Again, I ate every last bite! The service was very professional, serving the oldest woman first and the youngest man last, and serving on the left side of the person and removing plates from the right side-very traditional and something I like to see.

Being in Tucson, and having people in from Phoenix, we were very excited to watch the University of Arizona's 17-0 basketball team battle the Arizona State University team. These desert rivals always enjoy a good competition. We finished dinner just before tip off and headed to The Flying V, a "bar" across the parking lot from the main hotel entrance. We quickly realized it was not the location for our raucous sports watching, and returned to the lobby. We received somewhat lagging drink service, but overall were able to make all the noise we needed to as Tucson's Wildcats whomped the Phoenix-based ASU Sun Devils and went to 18-0!

The next morning I took an early (7am) hike to the waterfall and the upper observation deck, from which I watched the moon set to the west and the sun rise in the east. This vantage point is easy to access and gave great views of the resort and the city below along with all the beauty that is Tucson with is jagged cliffs and amazing saguaros standing tall like unwavering soldiers in the desert.

Breakfast was in the Canyon Cafe. We were given $20 vouchers at check in. Most of the menu items were $15 and up. I went with a $16 tomato basil egg white fritatta with feta cheese and an arugula salad. I don't like arugula, but once again I found myself consuming every morsel. We then checked out and I went over to the spa where a stylist named Dave gave me a tour. If you're looking to be pampered, this place has EVERYTHING. Hair cuts, colors, etc, nails, facials, a relaxation room, lap pool, tennis courts and golf course. All high-end products and very courteous, professional staff.

Overall, if you're big on a REALLY nice room, don't book the base room. If you're looking for a high-end resort that you never have to leave this is it. If you want access to hiking trails, shopping, Mount Lemmon, Sabino Canyon, and any of the dozens of other attractions Tucson has to offer and you don't have a budget, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is a good choice. I plan on coming back to use the resort facilities which are open to anyone, but don't intend to stay here again.

Room Tip: Book a room on a higher floor with either a city view or a mountain view.

We had a PERFECT stay for Christmas! Beautiful view on the mountain, beautiful evening in the pool (heated!) and hottub, nice time in the bar,... Everything was perfect and we couldn't find anything to complain about. One of our best Christmas memories.

Our stay at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort was so spectacular that we stayed an extra night. The desert resort is everything you hope for in a getaway...scenic golf courses, pool, spa, beautiful rooms, delicious food and the most attentive Staff imaginable. We took advantage of the stargazing evening with an onsite telescope and knowledgeable astronomer. We will not be strangers to this resort!

Green Features: This is a very environmentally friendly resort due to its desert location.
