“Great Time!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

We have just returned from a lovely, relaxing week at this resort (April 3-9, 3013). The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The service at EVERY level was 5-star. We were greeted (often by name) everywhere we went and always asked if we needed anything. I Love nightly turn-down service and they did it every night without having to be asked. The sunsets are so beautiful and if you go take time to have a glass of wine on the patio at the Flying V to take in the views. We hiked trails every day and loved it!! . The resort is tucked into the Ventana Canyon so the views are breathtaking. The long hikes up the canyon are well worth the time. There is an easier well marked hike through the dessert around the gold course if you are not in shape for the difficult canyon hikes and we did that hike every morning. We had delicious breakfast every morning by the pool and enjoyed long, lazy afternoons by the pool as well. We never had trouble finding a spot, towels were brought to us, along with ice water, frozen fruit kabobs, umbrellas, sunscreen....the works! For adults, there is a quiet, adult only pool that is beautiful too. Every morning we had access to 5 newspapers. We enjoyed a fabulous band in the lobby bar on Saturday. All in all we had a relaxing, pampered trip here and enjoyed the beautiful canyon/mountain setting and the city of Tuscon. We will go back again.

We recently had two meetings at the magnificent Loews Ventana Canyon and are extremely happy with our experience. From the sales phase to the execution of the meeting, the staff of the Loews were fantastic. I would like to thank the sales, conference services, and audiovisual teams for contibuting to the success of our meetings.

This was a very beautiful property. It is very large and "sprawling". Things are on different levels so it can be hard to find your way around. I wish I had a room that was a little closer to the front lobby, restraunts, etc... so that I wouldn't have had to deal with getting confused every time I had a meeting in the ballroom at the front! The pool is beautiful. Make sure you walk to the waterfall. Overall a great resort.

Room Tip: something close to the front!

My spouse and I were looking for a warm weather venue in Mar/Apr 13 to do some early season triathlon training. Since Tucson is the "Winter Training Capital", we searched fairly carefully for a good place to base some swim/bike/run training out of. The Loews Ventana Canyon met all of our needs!! The rooms were spacious with really good bathrooms. It is located near several main arteries, so getting to different training venues was very easy. There was good running and cycling very close to the hotel - to get into a good-sized pool, you had to travel a bit further, but nothing out of the question. The restaurants and bars in the resort were great with really good service. We saw (but didn't partake in) an awesome Easter Sunday brunch. There were lots of activities at the hotel, including nature walks and astronomy lessons. Recommended - we'll be back!

Room Tip: Try to get a room that overlooks the city - great views!!

I've reviewed Ritz before...it's a Ritz. This weekend I stayed at Loews Ventana Canyon. They didn't miss a lick. Great property, closer to other dining options and clearly lead in being dog friendly. I took a long weekend to enjoy and this was a great choice. My son happened to be driving from Austin to LA with his dog so we were able to meet. Loews was fantastic. Pool was great ( although very crowded, think about the pool by the spa). Service at pool was great though ( thank you Matthew for your service and attitude.) Food at pool and restaurant was great.

Finally thoughts...Ritz they bring you water by pool, Loews you walk 20 feet.....find the best price AZ is famous for its room rates at certain times of the year. If you have a pet...Loews hands down.

A delightful hotel, the service was excellent, the views, the rooms and food. All excellent. A would however, not recommend the spa. The massages we had were poor, the automatically add 20 percent gratuity when I felt it was not warranted. The spa is overly hot as they had no air conditioning. The work out events are good and it's a nice gym.

My wife and I spent 5 relaxing days at this resort. It is an older resort, but we found it nicely manintained and the staff was fantastic - every encounter was very pleasant. We also liked the fact that the resort was up against the mountains (very scenic for Tucson) and had a great hike nearby. Great service and food at the pool, although admittedly expensive. Good mexican and italian restaurants nearby too. Lots of kids at the pool, but we expected that. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: We enjoyed a room looking onto the pool from the west side so we could enjoy sitting on the balcony...
