“Impressive resort”

The trip was a special weekend getaway and regardless of the fact that it was misty and rained for much of the weekend it was still impressive. We ate at the Flying V the 1st night and breakfasted in the hotel both days. Food was really good and the service was first class. The setting is spectacular and despite the fact that a short drive will take you into the city, it really feels as if you are in the desert.

Room Tip: ask if there's a function taking place and ask to be far away from the main foyer. We were faced...

We fled the Minnesota snow for a week in Tucson. The Loews Ventana Resort was the perfect spot. Excellent location with wonderful amenities. Hikes up the canyon, warm outdoor pool and hot tub, golfed 18 holes. Just about perfect. We ate lunch by the pool and had dinner at the Flying V two nights. The concierge was helpful in providing restaurants suggestions. We even brought the Mn. snow with us. But it was a beautiful sight to see snow in the desert. Great get-away. My only concern would be that huge bathtub...not sure what was up with that. I think I would have preferred a nice walk in shower. Will definitely return to this area of Tucson.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the view of the city lights!

If you're looking for a place that everyone can have a great time--whether to relax or have fun--in an incredible desert location that will open your eyes (and your kids' eyes too) this is it! I visited with my nephews and they loved the resort with its pools and nearby hiking at Saguaro National Park, where they got to see some of the biggest cacti they've ever witnessed. They have photos to prove it. Boys loved the Breakfast Buffet, and had the pancakes every morning (and they are picky picky picky about their pancakes.) And the meals at the Flying V were always delicious (thanks to Rock, Daniel, Abe and Sean who really go out of their way to make guests feel at home) I recommend the tableside guacamole, baby-back ribs and paella for vegetarians. I was able to relax by the Serenity pool (adults only) and Lakeside Spa (check out the signature Sedona Sacred Ritual Body Treatment and Vitamin C Facial!). One of my favorite spots became the Cascade lounge for returning emails, getting some work done, and happy hour drinks, all the waitstaff is solicitous and on-top of things....and Saturday night there was live music that got us all dancing--even the kids. Staff was always helpful, ready to take pictures, always saying hello. Everyone always seems happy here. Such a wonderful location and top-notch staff, I can understand why. We'll be back for sure!!!

Room Tip: All views show off the spectacular mountains and gorgeous cacti....some rooms also face the sparklin...

Had a marvelous vacation at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort! The hotel beautifully and discreetly blends in the desert environment, it is obvious that great environmental care was given when the hotel was designed and built. With beautiful and challenging hiking trails right at the doorstep, a spectacular gold course, tennis courts and great roads for cycling around, a large swimming pool area, the hotel will certainly appeal to sports enthusiasts. The personnel is extremely courteous and friendly. And a special mention to the gardener, the various flower presentations throughout the hotel really add up to the feel good atmosphere of this property. Highly recommended!

This is truly a stunning property. Set up against the foothills literally in the desert, it is hard to imagine a more beautiful setting. The staff was just amazing, everyone is very friendly and the ladies at the concierge desk just bent over backwards to help. But the property is the real star what a magnificent setting and facility.

Now the rub! Why is it that every high end resort just cannot help but nickel and dime you. $12 a day for internet access, $25 room service for pets, no microwave in the room, no newpaper, really. You get all this at Motel 6 last time I checked.

We love the beauty of the Sonoran desert and have been regular guests at Loews Ventana Canyon every year for over 15 years. the combination of the weather and the hotel are wonderfully relaxing. The lobbies are luxurious, the rooms spacious and contemporary. The grounds and pool areas are immaculate. Most importantly the staff in the hotel and the Flying V is sincerely welcoming, friendly and cordial. We have particular praise for the concierge, Victoria, and Rock, the manager of the Flying V. When we end one vacation, we immediately book our next one there.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the mountain side have particularly beautiful views. You see the Sonoran desert at...

Interior has been upgraded with nice furnishings and carpeting. Staff was very friendly. Ate dinner in bar one night. Food was very good. Warning: tip is included in bill. We didn't realize, so way over tipped the server. The small "kitchen": small refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishes and utensils made it easy to eat breakfast and lunch in the room. The interior rooms above the public spaces are noisy. I had to use ear plugs. Great pool for lap swimmers.

Room Tip: Rooms with exterior entrances or those away from public spaces are much quieter.
