I have stayed at this Loew's four times witht he first being a decade ago and the most recent last week. It used to be one of my favorite hotels but it is getting a bit shabby and dated.
The most disappointing aspect was the bed -- reminded us of a typical motel bed from the 1990's. There are low end chains with more luxurious mattresses and bedding. Service was cordial but thin. Occupancy seemed low -- and really, after our stay it seemed less surprising.

My wife and I treated ourselves to a mini vacation and decided on the Loews Ventana canyon. Everything about the hotel was fantastic. From the staff to the accomadations, everything was top notch. We enjoyed the surroundings while walking along the hotels private hiking trail, then relaxed by the pool while being taken care of like royalty by the staff.

I contiunue to encourage my friends and family to stay at the Loews Ventana Canyon when in Tucson!!!!

Room Tip: Pool View rooms offer a great view of not only the pool but the mountains.

Gorgeous spot at the foot of Ventana Canyon. Very peaceful. Rooms and public spaces could use some updating- property is now 28 years old. Tremendous staff, great happy hour deals at lobby bar and Flying V across the main driveway. I highly recommend for a unique and comfortable desert mountain oasis, unless you are too spoiled to tolerate some signs of age. Rooms are very comfortable / quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for the East wing, facing the mountain... amazing!

Dear Trowca,

Thank you for staying with us at Loews Ventana Canyon and for your comments.

We take your input seriously and want say thank you for the nice comments about the setting and the staff. Just so you know, with the same owner since the beginning, we are constantly enhancing Loews Ventana Canyon. Right now we are in the midst of re furbishing all of the flag stone to it's original luster and we are re doing the Lobby and Cascade Lounge.

Appreciate your business and you comments, which I have shared with senior management.

Sincerely,

I travel several times a year with my hubby and two kids. My kids are pretty experienced travelers and do not require "family friendly" treatment. However, it is nice to stay at a four star deluxe hotel that is friendly to traveling families. In other words, it is just as adult friendly as it is kid friendly.

Loved the trail to the water fall. Loved the decor. Loved the staff who were approachable and genuinely tried to be helpful. We were there on April 1, which was the first day of promotion where the kids ate free at the breakfast buffet. (It was not a joke!) And because we waited a tiny bit - during which we enjoyed the decor and artwork of the hallway - all the drinks were on the house.

The check in/out, baggage assistance, concierge, etc., were all professional and helpful. It is a bit of drive from the freeway. It is not close to the city of Tucson. But it is a beautiful setting & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I must be fair I did not spend much time at the hotel but who ever designed the building should not do any more hotels. The closest parking lot to my forth floor room was on the second floor including going down a flight of stairs from the dark at night parking lot, then down a long hallway to the one elevator, up to the 4th floor then down another long hallway. I never found the stairs. Going from my room to the lobby I had to go outside which was poorly lit at nite. The lobby seemed like a nice place to stay but as a single woman traveling with heavy luggage this was a unfriendly experience.

We stay at allot of supposedly 5 star resorts that are disappointing. Everything at this hotel is rated as advertised, specatuclar spacious view suites equipped with every thing imaginable, and great porches and balconies. The restaurants are 5 star+ as well. There is a beautiful waterfall and creeks to the rear of the hotel with a walkways, very romantic at night. Service was also 5 star+ with lots of extra touches that other 5 star hotels do not have. For example there is a selection of multiple types of in-room coffee and when the maids saw that we liked a particular type, they supplied us extra of that type. There is a great hike into the nearby mountains right on the property-Ventana Canyon Trailhead. For a romantic weekend getaway this place cannot be beat!

Room Tip: Rooms in the east wing and further away from the office are quieter

I attended a conference at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. The accomodations were above expectations, and the views were simply breathtaking. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet, which was perfect for our conference. The people were very friendly and helpful. i loved it - and i did not get to enjoy much of the outdoor offerings due to meetings. The Flying V restaurant offered excellent service and attention (i have food allergies, so this is important). i would gladly travel to this location again.

Room Tip: Stayed in 4258 - the views are absolutely beautiful!!
