Quiet, birds, javelinas, Saguaro and beautiful sunsets. Combine these with gracious hosts, delightful breakfasts, fascinating guests and you have a memorable vacation. The inviting brick and stucco Hacienda is close to hiking with breathtaking views and a short drive into Tucson for entertainment, food and provisions. This is the best of the southwest; informal comfort in the middle of the desert. You may have quiet solitude or rely on David and Rosemary's knowledge of the area for day trips, hikes and restaurants in the area.

What a gem we found nestled in the desert. We were graciously greeted by Dave and taken to our abode, the La Rosa, with it's beautiful decor and comfortable bed and pillows too! Plus a full kitchen, table and sitting area! Breakfasts were beautiful and delicious in the lovely family/dining room area.

Dave and Rosemary took time to ask our interests and gave us ideas for day trips in the area, which were very helpful since we are from Ohio.

There is an area for walking in the desert and viewing many types of cactus and plants -- wonderful -- some are marked so we can learn what they are too!

It is truly a bird sanctuary that we enjoyed on our patio in the late afternoons and mornings! They thought of every detail and the view is awesome.

A special thrill was a visit from the javelinas and their young! It was an added joy to our stay and we felt very lucky. I would recommend this B & B to anyone who wants a quiet peaceful retreat with special care.

Signed by Ohioans. We even had an Ohio connection with Dave.

Everything I could want in a retreat to the desert of Arizona. I came alone, looking to get away from Minnesota winter. The hosts were wonderful. Everything was perfect. I didn't want to leave. My bedroom looked out on a birdbath and a private cactus garden and a view of the mountains. The decorating was fantastic. It had an old Mexico theme. I love that culture. They provided everything right down to the bathrobe and slippers. Sitting out in the hot tub under the stars was a highlight, and sitting on the patio, which is a cactus and bird sanctuary was also a highlight. The price was just what I would expect and not too much. I want to return.

Room Tip: I don't think any of the rooms would be a disappointment

My husband and I just returned from a five-night stay at the Hacienda del Desierto B&B in celebration of our five-year wedding anniversary. We stayed in the La Rosa room, which was cheery, comfortable, and cozy. (And the bed was amazing!) We loved everything about this B&B. The location was quiet, peaceful, and secluded, away from traffic and other city noises. We went to sleep to coyotes howling and woke to birds singing. We enjoyed "interacting" with the javelinas that came onto the property just about every morning, as well as the outside cats. We loved sitting in the hot tub and gazing at the stars. We really enjoyed the yummy breakfasts...each morning was a special treat. We enjoyed sitting out on our private patio and just listening to the sounds of the country. We also enjoyed learning more about David and Rosemary and really appreciated their great suggestions for things to see and do. We've stayed in a lot of B&Bs and this is definitely one of our favorites. We hope to get back there again someday.

Room Tip: La Rosa offers privacy galore!

Hacienda del Desierto B&B was a fantastic place to enjoy a real quiet experience. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the surrounding desert without other buildings nearby makes the experience very peaceful. The innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating. The décor is a bit dated, but very well kept and very clean. The location is perfect if you want to get away from everything, and the Saguaro (E) National Park is very nearby, yet understanding that restaurants are at least a 15 minute drive.

Room Tip: The separate building, a bit more money, is absolutely worth the serenity.

The Hacienda was all I'd hoped for and more. We live in (brrr) western Mass, and I'd planned for months for our mid-winter get away. We arrived tired after flying all day. The Galleria suite, where we stayed, immediately refreshed my soul. It's a lively, colorful set of rooms with a very comfy bed. The separate sitting room has a huge picture window overlooking a pond visited by Cactus Wrens, Gamble Quail, Curved-bill Thrashers. I sat for hours and watched several Gila woodpeckers come and go in the nearby Saguaro. On our second day, after resting, we were perfectly situated for a hike in the Saguaro Natl Park(east). It was a perfect initiation to the pleasures and beauty of desert living.

Room Tip: Galleria suite is great, more attractive than it appears on the B&B's website!

This was my third stay with hosts Rosemary and David Brown, but it the first time my sister went with me. We were raised in Tucson and love to go back for a visit; staying at this wonderful B&B in the foothills of the Rincon Mountains made our homecoming memorable. On this occasion, we were visited by a group of 10 javalinas as they came walking up our porch on their way to a natural feeding area. We were so excited! Though it's remotely located, there's a great steakhouse just up the road. Also, the remote location allows wonderful stargazing at night from the jacuzzi. The peace that surrounds this wonderful property is only matched by Rosemary and David's gracious hospitality and fabulous breakfasts. I'm looking forward to my 4th visit!
