Well, being a Star Trek fan, I assure you there are no transporters in Tucson. Probably meant the Transportation Museum. And while the capital is not in Tucson, the Pima County Courthouse definitely has that look. I am in full agreement that La Estrella Bakery is awesome! Thanks for the review!
We really enjoyed our morning with Jimmy. He's a great tour guide who did a fine job showing us around downtown Tucson. We had a gorgeous day for the bike ride and the bikes and equipment that Jimmy provided were top notch.
The only downside is that there really isn't that much of interest to see as you ride around Tucson. If you're looking for a nice day pedaling around the town and enjoying Jimmy's tour, then this is for you!
I'm glad you thought the gear and tour guiding were top notch. I'm a bit perplexed that you didn't find that there was much to look at, but I suppose everyone comes in with their own expectations. Downtown-ish Tucson has amazing murals, a crazy variety of housing styles, a beautiful Cathedral, a restored fort, a historic shrine, a 55 mile bike corridor, funky shops . . .
Jimmy was a great guide. Learned alot about Tuscon’s history. Visited neighbourhoods that were close together but very different. Got to spend 2 hours outside on a nice ride...good pace...comfortable bike. A great way to start the day!
Yes, central Tucson definitely is not cookie cutter. There is lots of variety.
Tour old Tucson by bike with an informative leader. This easy 2 1/2 hour ride through old town & downtown is enjoyable on comfy road bikes or your own bike. Finish the tour with a delicious Empanada pastry treat from a local bakery. Don’t miss this great tour of Tucson!
Thanks for the review! While I'd classify my bikes more as commuter or city style bikes, the most important thing is that you found them comfortable.
Historic Bike Tours was a great introduction to Tucson. Jimmy gave an excellent overview of the city with wonderful historic context. The bike ride was not overly strenuous and very safe. Highly recommend if you are new to Tucson.
I'm glad you enjoyed the overview and found it a safe experience . . . I definitely try my best at that.
This was a great way to see Tucson and learn the history. Jimmy is a fabulous host and guide. He has great knowledge of the Tucson and the US south/west. He provides a fun, safe and enjoyable tour. This is a must do for anyone visiting Tucson.
Hey, making a must do list is a big deal. Thanks!
