“Nice facilities, good area”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

Stayed at this hotel with my large family during Thanksgiving. Very spacious and clean rooms. The breakfast is excellent and the manager's special is like a meal itself. Suitable for larger gatherings. Seems to be located in a nice area relatively close to main streets in Tucson. Comfortable stay...although the hallway smelled like cigarette smoke often in the no smoking room area. No big complaints. Staff is helpful, friendly, and attempt to please their customers.

Room Tip: 2nd floor offers better views

We recently spent 5 days in Tucson. The Hotel is located in the northeast area of Tucson, but most attractions are located in the south Tucson area. It added about a half hour to any of our treks to Kitt Peak, Titan Missile Museum, Desert Museum and Old Tucson. However, the amenities certainly made up for the bit of extra traveling time. The breakfast was great with made to order omelettes, bacon, sausages, pancakes, scrambled eggs, cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. Coffee was available all day, although it tasted quite strong by the end of the day. There is a nightly Manager's reception from 5:30 to 7:30. You can order any drink....free of charge and there are some great snacks. We enjoyed nachos, salsa, pretzels peanuts, popcorn and even some M&m's. It was terrific being able to enjoy a drink and snacks after touring all day.
The staff were also great in recommending some terrific Mexican restaurants. We tried 2 of their suggestions and loved both restaurants.
Internet is not free which is really annoying - my only major complaint

Other than the old room switcheroo they try to pull nearly everytime I stay here, we love this hotel.
I believe we have stayed 7 times here.
The breakfast is amazing - views spectacular. Rooms are great for traveling with children, or extended stays.
There is a managers happy hour almost every night & parking is ample.
La Encantada across the street is a wonderful high end mall, Williams Sonoma - apple store - pottery barn & our favorite AJs market - grocer & fun food!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites over a weekend in early November. Our suite was comfortable and clean and I quite enjoyed the stay. There was a complimentary breakfast every morning that had just about everything one could want (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, french toast, omelettes, cereals, fruit, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, danishes, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and more!) To make the breakfast even better, the dining area overlooks the mountains to the north of the hotel. If you're an early riser, the sunlight on the mountains is splendid.

There was ample free parking and the pool area was nice. It was a little cool while we were there, but the hot tub was quite pleasant. There was even a fire pit to warm us up after we left the comfort of the warm water.

My only complaint against the place is that the walls were rather thin. Noise in adjacent rooms was quite apparent and the highway outside the room was equally audible. This wasn't a huge issue, but you might want to consider this if you are a light sleeper.

On a closing note, the hotel is somewhat distant from several Tucson-area attractions. I found it tediously slow to reach some of the main attractions. The lack of freeways in the city is not the fault of the Embassy Suites, but it takes some time to get through the traffic of the city on the way to your destination.

No complaints, mostly typical Embassy Suites. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were a bit smaller then normal, our bathroom was odd, there were three inward swinging doors between the two entrances and the closet...to get into the closet we had to enter the bathroom close one door to open the closet...a lot of door swing going on, but a minor nit. AC could be a little loud, but it was cool enough to shut it off (don't try this in August!). The evening reception had a very good choice of nibbles, even things for the kids. Beer choice was Bud or Bud Light...beer snobs beware! But the Thunder Canyon Brewery was a 10 minute drive away and had nice beers. I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the pool don't view the mountains, but don't face the road either

I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Paloma Village October 28-29, 2011 with several of my family members. This hotel is right in the foothills of the mountains, walking distance to an incredible outdoor shopping center (La Encantada) where you can find restaurants, bars, great stores, etc. The rooms were HUGE, plenty of space for my husband and I, and the beds were super comfortable. Everything seems very new or at least updated, which was nice. One of our most favorite parts was the awesome complimentary continental breakfast - there is a made to order omlet station, almost every breakfast option you could think of, plenty of seating, etc. The pool area was nice, maybe a bit small, but that definitely was not a problem. The one negative: we reserved the hotel shuttle to take us to the family wedding and it just never came. We had to literally pile in to various rental cars and GPS the wedding location - making it with just minutes to spare. Luckily everyone made it but perhaps the hotel needs to work on their shuttle schedule and communication. The front desk worker handling the situation was very apologetic and seemed actually upset that she couldn't find the shuttle driver. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: If you're concerned about noise perhaps don't pick a room that faces the pool.

I had a 3rd floor room. overlooking the pool and the mountains. My internal clock is on east coast time, so when I woke up early I got a fantasic view of a sunrise coming up over the mountain. The breakfast buffet is the stuff you dream of. Lots of hot and cold choices, plenty of seating indoor and out. If you are around for happy hour the drinks, full bar, and food are free. The rooms are all nice size suites. Too many doors we kept knocking into them..but so what. If the location is good for you and you have time to relax at breakfast or are really hungry, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: ask for the 3rd floor, mountain view.
