We just got back from our first stay at the Mira Vista Resort and the stay exceeded our expectations. Opened as a clothing optional resort under new ownership in May, the resort (which is a joint venture of the owners of Paradise Lakes, De Anza Springs and Laguna Del Sol) has a history dating back to the 1850's. The lobby and rooms have a rustic, comfortable feel that we loved. Our "premium" room was described as having "a little extra square footage" so we were expecting a little larger standard hotel room. Imagine our surprise at having a sitting room and two bedrooms. The staff was friendly and outgoing, making an effort to get to know your name. The pool is large with plenty of seating for sunbathing, the spa is also nice. There is an onsite restaurant that serves basic, but very good fare at a very resonable price. Beautiful, quiet surroundings. When looking at a map, the location seem outside the city a little which is misleading. There are a number of restaurants within less than a 10 minute drive and we went to dinner in North Tucson and it took us less than 15 minutes to get to our destination.

The only drawback we found was the day use fee for use of the pool/spa/weight room and tennis court that is charged even if you stay in a hotel room. WIth two people staying in a room, that can add $50.00 onto a night at the hotel. That cost can be mitigated by using the coupon on their website for a free day pass.

Overall an ideal place for a couple to relax and kick back.
