Been once, so not sure my review is valid. Heard so much about it, finally went. While food was good, was not really overly impressed with presentation nor serving size. Staff was good, not remarkable. I think the expectation was better than the experience.

The breakfast/brunch menu at Prep and Pastry is inventive and delicious (I've never tried any of the lunch dishes). It's a truly unique café. The original one, near the corner of Fort Lowell Rd. and Campbell Ave., has a nice, quirky vibe. The newer site, on East Grant Rd. near Fort Lowell, is very industrial, but friendly and quirky in its own way.
Try to go during the week, or at odd hours. There's almost always a wait otherwise.
Last visit was in April, but I live in Tucson, and go whenever I can.

Great for breakfast and brunch. I've had French toast and tomato soup w/ grilled cheese. Everything is just Devine. Their coffee and tea is second to none. Just be prepared to wait about 20 to 25 minutes on a Sunday morning. It is well worth the wait for the delicious meal awaiting you

A very nice upscale looking eatery located on Grant. The staff were OK but not great. The breakfast menu was quite pricey. I ordered a basic eggs over easy with toast and potatoes. For $4.00 I added sausage on the side. For that I got one small pork sausage pattie. Pretty disappointing. The potatoes were large diced pieces that were sauteed. These were the only potatoes available. I personally did not care for these but they may appeal to others. The toast was not buttered nor was there any butter on the table. The coffee was only warm. They poured three new cups but they were all just warm. My wife had an omelette which she enjoyed. Our bill was close to $25. There are plenty of other breakfast places around for a better selection and a much, much lower price. I have a feeling they do a much better job for lunch.

Close your eyes and point at the menu. Guaranteed it will be a delicious and excellent choice. But, this is no big secret, it's a very popular place. We have had the most success getting into Prep & Pastry if we go early. Otherwise, it's a long, hungry wait.

My favorite breakfast is French Toast, and there is more than one satisfying choice. My ultimate fave is the brioche. Yum. Yum. Yum.
