Food was great in a fun atmosphere. Excellent and fast service. They make salsa right at your table; very fresh, very good, and adjust the heat until it is just to your liking. I had the lobster enchilada (it's really langostinos, but they call it lobster) and it was great. My friend had the shrimp that remained hot and boiling in the stone server all through dinner, which kept it hot, but also kept it cooking so the leftovers were a little tough. Other friend had a combination and everything was good. Can't say much for the beans and rice, but they were adequate. It's the main courses and the drinks you'll enjoy. A mariachi band stood by us; was a bit loud as a result and only missed a few notes (ouch), but were most acceptable. Overall a fun evening with good food. Do go.

Came across this restaurant while reading reviews for a local B&B (Jermiah Inn - great place to stay). The food was outstanding as was the atmosphere. We sat on the new patio area on a perfect Tucson evening. The mariachi trio was fun but not in your face like at some restaurants. We had a great experience. PS - save room for the sopapillas. You will thank me later!!

Guadalajara Grill is a hopping place and you need reservations any day you choose to go. They make salsa at the table--exactly how you like it. The food is terrific and friends we have taken love the food and the ambiance. There is music if you choose to have the mariachi's at your table or just wander the restaurant. I love the 'old' location and cannot speak about the new one!

The food was good and freshly prepared but the margaritas were out of this world. They have some very good tequilas at the bar and they make scrumptious margaritas on the rocks. Would go back again to eat and drink. would have a designated driver on hand though. The drinks are huge and they do have a fair amount of alcohol.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant. It was very busy on a Monday night at 7:00pm, but we did get seated within 10 or 15 minutes. As other reviewers have commented, the reception was not very friendly. Our waiter was very attentive, but our food took FOREVER. They prepare salsa at the table--it's pretty good, but my kids thought it tasted a lot like ketchup--and actually, it did, a little. I was not too hungry and ordered the shrimp cocktail--7 very large shrimp, fresh, and the "cocktail" was like a southwestern gazpacho. It was really tasty. The cocktail sauce, however, truly tasted like ketchup with some spices in it. As my teens would say, "ew." My husband had the Veggie Molcajete--a "steaming hot volcanic rock bowl filled with a collage of zucchini, portabello mushroom, bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes seeped in our famous molcajete sauce and topped with slices of queso fresco." It was served with tortillas and it was fresh and good. My daughters had the "guaco taco" and the mini-chimis. We ordered beef chimis and got chicken, but we'd waited too long to complain. They also had a musical trio strolling among the tables and playing--it was fun.

I definitely recommend the food, but don't go if you're in a hurry.
