“Luscious art and gracious surroundings.”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

A small gem, the UA museum's permanent archives may not hold "the best" but it's still remarkable and a joy to graze through the current pieces on display, along with whatever visiting exhibits are in house. While you're there consider stopping across the street at the Center for Creative Photography. Between the two, this corner of the UA campus positively vibrates with pride in their collections.

“Spanish altar pieces”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

Very nice art museum. Highlight of permanent collection is series of paintings making an altar piece from Cuidad Rodrigo, 15th century. Well explained and well displayed. Also European art and a mixture of art styles in the temporary exhibits. Museum is a little hard to find. Park in garage on 2nd street and then walk about blocks.

“meh”

I have been to a lot of museums. This one is just ok. I am afraid Tucsonans are not much into high culture at least the pack I roll with is that way.

“Loved the Frida exhibit”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

Beautiful Frida Kahlo exhibit. The documentary film was terrific although very long. There should have been some printed announcement of the length. We had to see sections of it spread over two visits. The regular exhibits were great fun to see again. The gift shop is outstanding (if a little crowded).
