“Absolutely the Best Pizza”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

There are 3 locations now on the east side of Tucson. This is pizza for adults, not some cardboard & catsup concoction found in most chain restaurants. Flavorful, fresh with just the right amount of ingredients to balance the flavors. Our favorite is Italian sausage with fresh basil and extra garlic.

“Arizona Pizza Company Has Got Your Slice”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Do not confuse the Arizona Pizza Company with it’s California cousin--you won’t find frou-frou artisan pizza here. Set in a strip mall adjacent to another pizza joint that caters to kids, AZP is half pizza joint, half neighborhood bar. Wrought iron tables meant for patios are nestled between the hard wood bar and some old-school pinball machine, so fancy it is not. But you’ll forgive the barroom atmosphere when you order a lunch special, I promise.
Monday through Friday AZP serves a $5.50 combo that includes a slice and a soda with free refills. If you paid attention when you entered the joint, you’d see a poster that shows you the actual size of that slice you were about to order. The special for $5.50 is a cheese slice, and you can add toppings from there for additional charge of .50 cents. They also serve salads (really good salads), sandwiches, wings, and calzone. I’ve tried a little of them all, and never been disappointed.
Summing up the lunch special is no easy task. I’d rate it above the national chains like Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Little Caesar’s. AZP’s crust is thin where it needs to be, and adequately thick at the edges. Sprinkle a bit of garlic, some parm, and a bit of chili pequin for a bit of kick. The cheese is adequately gooey and thick. If you’re able, order a Shiner Bock with a slice of orange, and prepare to be satisfied.
A “slice” to AZP is a wedge off a pizza larger than a man-hole cover, I kid you not. The thing is the size of a college pennant. It’s served so steaming hot you stand a chance of bending your fork if you decide to cut it in half. Most likely you will, and there are to-go boxes on the front counter for you to stow your midnight snack in.
Bottom line: dollar for dollar, you won’t find a better deal for a better slice anywhere.

“Good Food... Slow Service”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

My family and I go to the location on Sabino Canyon, south of Sunrise. The pizza is fantastic and incredibly delicious. Very flavorful, large generous slices... great toppings.

Problem is the wait time and staff... they seem to have a bunch of teenagers running the place and aren't very customer-service oriented. If your pizza isn't ready when they promised it... oh well. You have to sit in their lobby and wait... don't mind the mismatched paint on the walls. (I worry if they can't get matching paint on the walls then how well are they concentrating on the food and cleanliness).

The staff even has a tip jar sitting on the counter but there really is no service offered. I love the pizza and love supporting a 'local' business... I just wish they would step up and be thankful for the customers they have.

“Good pizza --- take home”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

Very good pizza, lots of meat but quite expensive. Don't eat here. Not vey clean, noisy, poor seating, and servers that are more interested in chatting with each other than customers. Also, check your order, high error rate.

If you order by phone and close your eyes when you pick up your pizza, good pizza. If you want to sit down and save some money try Vero Amore, not far away.
