Never had a bad experience at this restaurant in the past. They have rearranged/remodeled the Gold Room dinning area and it is not as nice as before. Still has a beautiful view of city lights, but the good things end there. Wait staff was horrible and inattentive--took a half hour to get a bottle of prosecco and and a plate of bread. Food came out luke warm and under seasoned. Afterwards, I saw that hotel had been purchased by Wyndham. We went to this restaurant whenever we had family in town and on special occasions and now all that is wrecked. There are 3 other restaurants in the area which are now better than Gold.

“Wyndham also ruined the ambience of the Gold Room.”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

But the views of Tucson are spectacular, and the gardens below are lovely. Still, like my review of the hotel- the charm has been ruined by Wyndham.

The view and service were excellent and the food superior. I had Desert Grilled Trout that was fresh and tender. A real treat.

“Sonoran eggs Benedict for Brunch”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

Our Sunday morning brunch at Gold was lovely. Sonoran eggs Benedict with chipolte hollandaise was scrumptious. Our waiter chased up some horseradish for Bloody Mary's, so we thought that the service was excellent too. The outdoor tables are under a large overhanging balcony so protected from the hot Arizona sun.

The food was imaginative and fresh. The service was friendly and the resort was wonderful. There is a path for a passegiata after your meal.

Very cool! Elegant atmosphere. Original building was a private girls finishing school. Southwestern setting is beautiful.
