Just a standard museum cafeteria. But of course convenient and allows you the time to explore the museum

“Perfect oasis in the desert”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

An excellent museum cafe! We are members of the Metropolitan Museum in NYC and this cafe beats the Met members dining room in every respect. The atmosphere is relaxing, service is genuine and friendly, and there is very good value for the money in the food offerings. Prices are higher than at the cafeteria-style Ironwood Terraces next door, but the food is creative and high quality for relatively reasonable prices. There is a small wine list but it covers lots of different styles and prices, and the wine prices were quite fair. Probably not suitable for small children - I did not see a kids menu or anything on the menu that was particularly kid-friendly.

If you sit outside, you may be visited by local bees from the surrounding gardens. Do not be alarmed! As we learned at the pollinator exhibit, desert bees are not members of colonies and are not soldiers willing to die to protect the colony. Rather, they are "single moms" who will only sting (and die) as an extreme last resort. Let them explore or gently shoo them away and you will not have any problems.

“Next to Ironwood Terrace - ASDM”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

This is a nice sit down for lunch place with white tablecloths, but it is a bit more pricey than the Ironwood Terrace. If you are visiting with all adults in the party and would like a sit down lunch do it here.

nice selection of food, not what I would call delicious, but it was okay, and we enjoyed our visit there. The menus prices are reasonable. Staff very friendly

“Gem in the desert museum”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

Museum cafes can be "iffy", but the Ocotillo Cafe is a great find. Just next door to the Ironwood grill, the menu is diverse and thoughtfully prepared. We had blue corn pumpkin crusted chicken breast with green chili polenta and black bean yam hash and dorado con frijoles blanco. Both were excellent.

Service was first class.
