Description: We’ve turned a modern lens on traditional Italian cooking. North Italia is our love letter to Italy—a place that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped off a charming side street to discover a culinary gem. After a decade in business, we’ve learned a thing or two and we’re approaching perfection in the art of handmade pasta and pizza. Every day, we start from scratch to create dishes like Strozzapreti with Bloomsdale spinach or supple ribbons of tagliatelle for our Bolognese. Our pizza is a revelation: an airy, barely chewy center embraced by a perfectly crisp crust. With the spirit of the Italian taverna, North is the place to talk shop over a cocktail or swap gossip sharing delectable chef creations.Every neighborhood would be lucky to have a place like North.

First visit here. Establishment takes reservations either through Open Table, it's own web site or over the phone. Valet parking available. Plenty of covered outdoor seating available and a large indoor dining room, so they can seat large parties. Full bar with an extensive wine list on site. Entrees run $10 - 25 dollars. Service was informative, cheerful and attentive without being hovering. Our dinners arrived promptly, were well prepared and delicious. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was also very good. We'll be back.

Our party of nine dined at North Italia restaurant in late June. We were on vacation in AZ and celebrating our daughter’s 13 birthday. We ordered a few small plates for the table including the grilled artichoke, arancini, white truffle garlic bread and the burrata. The arancini and the burrata were fantastic. We could have probably done without the truffle garlic bread.

All of the pasta is made in house and was great. A few of us ordered the chicken parm which was probably not the best choice. The Burrata Tortellini was fantastic and the meatballs a classic. The chicken pesto was a bit salty.

Our waiter was fantastic—very attentive and pleasant. For dessert, the restaurant treated us to bombolini (Italian donuts) tiramisu and a strawberry cake, each of which was great. This was a nice touch and something we did not expect.

The restaurant is loud ....but fun. If we had one in the NE we would sure visit again.

Ann and I went for dinner about 7 pm on 7/4. No reservations and knowingly a crowded night out, but so should the restaurant have known. First, the hostess lost or didn't record Ann's cell number, so after waiting 20 minutes being told 10, I went to the desk and asked. They had no record of us, but did seat us right away. I was a bit surprised at the wait anyway because there were at least 8 unused tables set for service on the bar side which over or wait became partially used. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu but was over booked with tables. He was trying to answer questions at at least 3 tables while taking or drink order (wine) and an appetizer order. The calamari was great, but we were about finished when our wine came. Ann had pesto-chicken and I had the short rib radiator pasta. Again great and generous, but slow, as were or wine orders with dinner. For the food wonderful and would return, but with a reservation and not at a busy/popular time. Service was weak, not that our server was at fault, he worked his butt off, but over booked for tables.

Once again, we had an outstanding experience while dining here last week. The food, wine and service are top notch. We particularly appreciated their special, the Bottle and Board item - a delicious Chef's Board of selected meats and cheese with incredible fig jam and bread plus a bottle of red wine. All for $20.00. This cannot be beat. The salads, Cesar and Kale, were incredible. Just the right amount of dressing and full of taste. The pizzas, Prosciutto and a Funghi were perfect with a thin crust and bubbling with flavor. The evening was made even more special by the superlative service of Melissa. She was right on top of her game the entire time and here recommendations were right on, especially the Super Tuscan she suggested. North, and Melissa, once again hit the ball out of the ballpark. Thanks.

North Italia was a terrific restaurant for a large group that have many different food lifestyles - vegans, omnivores, carnivores and gluten-free. The grilled artichoke was an excellent appetizer for everyone. All of the salads (Seasonal Vegetable, Heirloom Tomato, Tuscan Kale) were prepared with the freshest produce. I can't rave enough about the Basil Vinaigrette dressing! Others enjoyed their bacon & egg pizza and the chicken pesto pasta dishes. There was only one comment at our table and that was they thought the Chicken Parmesan was a little too dry.

This is not a restaurant for an intimate, quiet evening. Interior mimics a large, high-ceiling warehouse building with many dinner tables so it is noisy.
