This restaurant is a must when visiting Tucson. The atmosphere is quite lively and fun. It was very crowded on a Wednesday night, which is a good sign. Once seated they immediately bring you warm chips and salsa. The salsa was outstanding!!! We tried the carne seca which is what this restaurant is famous for. I found it a little dry, but it did have a distinctive taste. Our server, Randy was excellent, she kept our drinks full at all times. The only negative I could say about El Charro is the fact that flies were everywhere. I had to constantly wave them away during our entire meal. That was slightly disturbing.

We came to El Charro based on a recommendation from the desk staff at Hampton Inn Tucson Airport, and we were pleased that we had made the trip to N Court Avenue.

Service was prompt and professional, cant fault it at all. Crispy nachos and salsa to start, we both had entrees and were pleased with the portion size and quality. Decor is great too, really like the veranda areas, as well as the interior and courtyard.

We have been to all locations many times and like the one downtown the best for the atmosphere. The food is excellent and service is always great.

Lovely Mexican food, dessert platters intimidatingly large. Very nice quality and not too expensive.
It's a shame that they use so much polystyrene/styrofoam for drinks and plates at the bar. It's just such a killer for the earth, that's my only complaint. The rest was excellent.

Our son recommended this place and we love Mexican food! And we have to say that Mexican food out west is the best! We live in the south and haven't found anything comparable to the kind of food we used to have out west. You won't be disappointed with this place. And the salsa is muy bien!
