I was at the Grill on a Sunday night in late March. We had a reservation; had to wait just a few minutes and then were led to our table by the window with a lovely view. The drinks were very nice and the romaine salads that two of us ordered were outstanding! The server and chef were very accommodating as far as my vegetarian daughter is concerned (who wanted all of the side dishes that went with the salmon, but didn't want the salmon itself!) and she got exactly what she wanted. My chicken and waffle was disappointing; the chicken was lovely but the two small waffles were quite soggy and unattractive. The fact that the waffles were small was not a problem but the sogginess was! The Mexican hot chocolate that ended the meal was a delight. Our server was helpful and attentive, and the "live" piano music was lovely.

We had two lovely evenings at Hacienda del Sol, Tucson AZ. Heard good bands (one jazz, one rock-n-roll) Both expert and not too loud to enjoy in the lovely setting. The grounds at this restaurant are spectacular and the views stupendous. The staff was terrific and all the food excellent. Stroll through the courtyard to see the photos of the Hacienda when it was a girls' prep school.

First night at the Hacienda del Sol Resort. Food was good, not great. Rueben was overly salty; Beef Brisket and Mozzarella open face sandwich was also salty, but otherwise bland. Entertainment was good, mixed drinks were tasty and service was terrific.

We ate here 2 nights in sucession. The first night was good without being stunning. On the second night it was obvious the chef had apparently lost control of the kitchen and allowed dishes to go out which never should have seen the light of day. My pasta was the worst ever anywhere. It had obviously been cooked & allowed to stand for some time making it matted & rubbery. It was more like trying to eat rubber bands. The waiter said he would tell the chef - we never saw him again. Nobody seemed bothered. A diner on another table had the same problem. Another diner told me they had encountered a similar problem before and it happens when they are catering for a private event at the same time. They cannot cope with that & keep up standards in the restaurant. Don't take a chance on what the chef is going to serve up - eat elsewhere. This could potentially be a great restaurant but it is not until they get a real chef.

For perhaps the past ten years, we have made the Hacienda Del Sol our anniversary destination. We check in by mid-afternoon, have a quick swim in the pool, have drinks in our room, and then go to dinner at the Grill. We have never had a meal there that was less than superb. The service is friendly without being too familiar; the food is always a delight. The only problem is, deciding what to order; I want to try "one of each!" One year, our anniversary was on a Saturday, so we got to try out the Sunday brunch buffet. Warning: do not attempt this if you are on a diet. A phenomenal buffet, with endless mimosas!
