“a perennial favorite”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

When we visit Tucson after leaving 15 years ago, we always make a point to visit the Blue Willow. It never disappoints. The food is unadorned but reliably well-prepared, and what other restaurant has a book and greeting card store in the front where you can purchase a book on "Obscene Hand Gestures of the World"?

“High quality ingredients”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

I've eaten here twice and both times my breakfast tasted fresh and flavorful. This time I had the fruit and granola with a side of ham; the fruit was beautiful, I enjoyed it so much. The restaurant isn't much to look at on the inside, it is usually crowded (which is a good sign) and the waitstaff, while friendly and attentive, look a bit disheveled (probably because they are working hard) . We have a restaurant on this order in Minneapolis and it too is small, somewhat cramped & messy but consistently turns out great breakfasts.

“Our escape from the Arizona Inn ;)”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

And its prices.

Well, the Blue Willow is not anywhere near the level of the Arizona Inn, of course, but while the latter is for something special, the former is more for every day. And most days are more every day than special.

Anyway, we quite enjoyed our meals here even though the tables were bare of cloths and the waitresses did not have one arm folded behind their backs while serving us. The food is down to earth tasty and service is attentive and friendly, and prices are reasonable.

Most days, what else do you want?

“Delicious breakfast”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Having driven by here for years, seeing the always busy parking lot, my wife and I decided to give it a try.
What a treat! It is an old converted cottage, beautifully quaint, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was fresh, delicious and visually appealing.
BTW, the gift shop is adorable. Stop on your way out!

“Hidden oasis”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Fantastic shaded, secluded patio and awesome gift shop but otherwise the menu is pretty simple-vegitarian. Why can't other restaurants like this pop up in Tucson?!?
