“Complex tastes with superb dinning”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

The restaurant's food is exceptional. I had the 3 Chef's Special and my wife ordered the Veal Piccata. Both meals were seasoned to perfection. The hostess seated us right away as we entered the restaurant. The waitress anticipated our every need, checking on our water, bread and wine. The chef came to our table to inquire if all was all right and asked if the live music provided was too loud ( there was a wonderful guitarist serenading the diners). The dining experience was wonderful and we will return to this restaurant again soon.

“Perfectly adequate”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

The first time we went the restaurant was closed, despite voice message announcing hour of service and the sign on the door tough. Have Groupon though, will persevere! The wine list was pitiful, the service was slow, but the food was vert tasty. I'm not sure the theme they are going for... High end prices, low brow t.v. At bar.

“Good food, unremarkable service”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

We tried this place on the wednesday before Valentine's day. It was pretty dead; just 2 other tables We were asked if we had a reservation, we didn't and they seated us anyway. Pleasing atmosphere. I had the meat lasagna, my husband had the Chicken Piccata and both dishes had very good flavor, but on the salty side. It was almost too much salt for my taste, but my husband, who loves salt, didn't need any. Luckily, because there was no salt or pepper on the table. One complaint: We speculated whether or not the bread provided had come in a plastic bag from the local grocery store. Just a couple of sesame rolls with little or no flavor or character. I will give them serious props for the organic meat.

“Bad Experience.....”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Upon our arrival at Bell D'Auria we were asked if we had reservations which we didn't. We were therefore told that they couldn't accomodate us so we asked if we could sit at the bar which had numerous stools available and nobody occupying any of the seats. We were told that would be fine. Before we had the opportunity to order drinks our waitress came over and said she could move us to one of three empty tables so we moved.

While waiting for our drinks to arrive I noticed that most of the patrons seated ahead of us did not have food on the table. That was concerning to the extent that it left one with the impression that the kitchen was short of help. We presented a Groupon certificate to our waitress.

Shortly after placing our order a gentleman came to our table and said there was a problem. The problem being that we showed up without reservations that were required when presenting a Groupon certificate. We acknowledged that we didn't realize this and that was our fault but said the waitress accomodated us at the bar and then decided she could move us to a table regardless of a reservation.

Not very happy at this point we said we'll just move back to the bar which we proceded to do drinks in hand. We asked if the Groupon would be honored at the bar and he said yes. After getting settled at the bar he returned and proceded to tell us that they would not honor the Groupon certificate. He continued to say that the only way they would serve us was if we paid full price for our meal and made reservations to use our Groupon certificate another day. We were offended by this ultimatum. I then asked if all the empty seats at the bar were reserved and he simply repeated that they would not accept the Groupon certificate at the bar.

We left Bell D'Auria disgusted with the way they handled the situation and we will not return. We have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant.

“A place to go if you have 3 or 4 extra hours on your hands and dont mind standing and waiting”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

We called for reservations, left our number per instructions, along with the time and date and number in our party for call back to confirm--twice. The next day I finally got a hold of a real person that told me our requested time slot was filled (?) but she could accommidate us an hour later. We took that, and walked into a line of customers that almost stretched out the door. All of them with reservations at the same time we had reservations. And at least one of them--the couple in front of us, had the same issues with no call back after repeated attempts to get a reservation. Due to the food barely coming out of the kitchen, tables were very slow in clearing. As were the whole service staff. We watched as they laboriously carried two wine glasses out to the kitchen, came back for two more, and once again returned for napkins, etc. Numerous people behind us--also with reservations--left. And one seated couple, after being unable to get water or a menu for 10 to 15 minutes left, as did the couple that told the person seating them that if they didn't get some service after 10 minutes, they would leave also. They didn't, so they did. While standing and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, we also noted that no one seemed to be able to work the cash register. Upon finially getting a table, we immediately asked for water and a glass of wine. That worked fairly well, as we were served that in under 15 minutes, while those that were seated before us still waited. We ordered our appitizer and entree at the same time. Of course it took forever, because, as our waiter explained, they were" a little" backed up. That, however does not explain why he never brought us our bread, as other tables got, nor extra plates to put our appitizer on. Rather than wait til the next day for plates, we made do, and asked a water girl, who was agonizingly slow in refilling glasses, for bread. It took awhile, but we finally got bread. The food was good, but the whole lengthy process was not worth it. On the way out we were stopped by some of our new best friends that we met in line, and we all agreed that we wouldnt be back. Maybe if a slight concession to all of the extradinary incovienience we all experienced had been offered, we- and countless others- wouldnt have walked away with such a bad taste in our mouths A shame, as this why restaurants in a tight economy close.
