This is a great spot if you are taking in all the Tucson area has to offer. It is convenient to move around the area with good major street and freeway access. The unit was spotless, beds comfortable, and the front desk staff was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The one bedroom was sufficient and a separate dressing/makeup area is a great idea in these smaller units. If you are coming with a family or plan to cook in a lot, the kitchen is more of an efficiency one with a two-burner stove, microwave, full-sized refeigerator, but no oven. The sink is very small, and with no dishwasher if you had many dishes to do, it would be a bit frustrating. I do not go on vacation to cook, so not an issue for me. This was my second trip here and I will definitely be back.

VCA Tucson was smaller than I had expected from the website. It is spotless, well furnished and very friendly - we were looked after so well by Felicia, who us always cheerful, attentive and helpful. The rooms are well equipped with a good mini kitchen and comfortable beds. We hired bikes and the staff were very happy to keep them safe for us in the hotel. There is a good sized swimming pool and spa bath, and an exercise room. The hotel is on a bus route with buses every ten minutes, and convenient for the Botanic Gardens. A very good base for exploring Tucson and the surrounding area.

Room Tip: The rooms on the second floor and to the sides of the hotel are very quiet.

Stayed last week again at the Varsity Club in Tucson. The service is wonderful; Felicia remembered us from our last visit in the fall. She always addresses me by my name, too! All the staff are friendly and helpful. We love the location on Speedway; near family, Sabino Canyon, the University and many attractions. They assigned us a wonderful room with balcony, overlooking the pool and courtyard. Varsity is owned by Diamond Resorts and we have never been disappointed. Kitchen is well-appointed, lovely linens and bed. Free internet, free laundry, nice fitness center, attractive lobby and everything we needed to invite our friends to spend a night on the sofa bed. Everything was immaculate. Had a great holiday visit in Tucson and the Varsity made it happen. Thanks to all!

Room Tip: Love the rooms facing the courtyard.

Overall, this hotel was very nice. The room configuration was excellent and the amenities were top notch. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately, the Internet in this place really sucked. It was constantly not available or kicking me off. Apparently the service provider was a company called IBahn and they haven't got it right yet. The worst part was none of the hotel staff have any ability to resolve problems with it. I called the iBahn company's helpdesk several times to get this sorted out and never really did during the three days we were there.

Come on folks, Internet's been around for more than 20 years now. How hard can it be to allow access to my little iPad. I would've given 3 1/2 for this rating but since I have to give a whole mark one way or another, it's a four. But just barely. Mainly because the staff were so nice.

There are no food services in this hotel but we had a suite with a kitchen that was very well-equipped and most pleasant. Another thing I would mention are the televisions are outstanding. They were the nicest largest clearest screens I've ever seen in a hotel. Well done. And since I had so much trouble getting on the Internet, a welcome relief.

Our room was facing the parking lot so no real recommendation there.

First off...great appearance driving up and once entering the lobby you'll be impressed even more. Front desk staff (Felicia and Raul) were friendly and excellent at their job. The hallways and room décor was great. The large screen TV's in the living room and bedroom were perfect for viewing. We had friends in one evening to share pizza and watch a game...the six of us were very comfortable in the suite. The kitchen had all the basics you need to fix breakfast or whatever meal or snack. The only problem we experienced...the Wi-Fi went down on Sunday and they had no IT person to fix it. This effected the business center they had as well so you could not print anything. Felicia was most helpful in letting us log into Southwest Airlines to check in and print out our boarding passes through the office.
For us...it's THUMBS UP and we will stay there again when in the area!!!

Room Tip: We were on the second floor near Speedway Blvd (very busy) BUT the highway noise was NEVER an issue! All the rooms that we saw were more than adequate!
