The hotel is rather normal however good god is it noisy.
The walls are paper thin and it always seems to be noisy,
If you have to stay here I recommend staying on the highest floor because otherwise you'll hear people stamping around above you.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floor.

We are sincerely sorry that your stay here at Varsity Clubs of America - Tucson did not meet your expectations. We always strive to deliver exceptional hospitality and offer quality accommodations at an affordable price to each guest that stays with us. It was very concerning to read that you have experienced some noise related issues during your stay. We assure you we kindly request all our guests to respect their neighbors and try and keep the noise levels low, especially after 9pm. Should you have mentioned this to the reception we would have done our best to offer you a solution to this issue, such as an alternative room. Yet we hope that you had an otherwise pleasant stay and we hope to see you again soon!

We are DRI owners, and normally go to Sedona for a get-away, but this time we had our 12-year-old grandson with us, so we decided to tour Tucson. We drove from Chandler to Kartchner Caverns to see the Throne Room. What a great tour! It was presented superbly, and I could imagine the discoverers as they found their way through the caves.

We drove back to Tucson and arrived right about 4:00 pm, but they told us our room wasn't ready for another 20 minutes or so. We went and had a bite, and came back around 45 minutes later, and the room still wasn't ready ( we had requested a 2 bedroom unit with a balcony overlooking the pool). We hung around the lobby for a short while, and the guy behind the desk (I'm embarassed that I didn't get his name) switched us to a different room, but we got our request. So, all was well.

The unit itself was clean (except for on top of the fridge - we're tall people, and noticed that right off); there was no oven, but a 2-burner stovetop and microwave oven, and the tv in the living room area was a bit small. The furniture could use some updating as it was visibly scratched - but we understand these things take time. The bedrooms are a nice size, the beds are the DRI signature beds, and both bathrooms have a jacuzzi tub. The rooms have their own window a/c units, so it's great that you can have the temp you want, but they are also a littly noisy. The balcony was HUGE, and it would be a nice place to hang out in the cooler weather.

The property has a nice-sized pool, and a hot tub; there is a pool table in the lobby area, along with a 24 hour coffee/tea bar that others have mentioned. Also, the water bottle fountain is a GREAT touch.

The personnel that work the property are all very accommodating and friendly. Juan, the day manager was very courteous upon checking out. My husband had left some battery chargers in our unit, and when we got back home, he called Juan, and we received the chargers 2 days later in the mail - that is DRI service that Steve Cloobeck talks about.

We also went to the Titan II Missile Silo and the Pima Air Museum - both worth taking in.

We will return when the weather gets a little cooler to check out the wineries in Senoita, as well as one of the Observatories, using the VCA Tucson as a base.

Room Tip: We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit on the 3rd floor - 313. Nice view of the pool, and very large balcony - you could have a party out there!

We rerally enjoyed our two day stay at this hotel. The hotel is within easy walking distance of a number of veery good rrestaurants. If you want to economise, the rooms have full sized refrigerator microwaves, and eating utenils. Located by the swimming pool you will find gas grills that you can use to cook steakes or burgeers. Both rooms in the suite had large screen tvs. The employess at the front desk were very helpfull. They reccomended a number local resturants and provided us with coupons for varrious local attractions.

This is now part of the Diamond timeshare group and we booked this as Diamond owners. We stayed for 3 nights on entering the car park I was very scepitical as it is at the side of a very busy road. On entering the property I was pleasantly surprised, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were assigned a Studio apartment and we could not hear the traffic. The studio was large and contained a mini kitchen with all the appliances you need along with a large fridge all that is usually found in a diamond property. We understand that Diamond resorts have replaced all the beds and must say that the bed along with all the linens and towels are the generic good quality that Diamond provide. The kitchen area and couches could do with a makeover, however everything was spotlessly clean. We did enjoy a couple of mornings around the pool and the whole area was maintained to a high standard, The manager was very visable, and I must say the hotel and staff are to his credit. The only downside to our room was it was placed near to the cleaners station and when they came on duty in the morning we were woken early by there chatter.
